can chronic constant anxiety and worry affect your hearing. I feel like I can't hear properly sometimes. like sounds are faded. I feel faint randomly even when im not anxious I feel numbness in my body. . I'm so scared I have functional neurological disorder or vasovagal syncope or serious neurological problem. i've been seen by a neurologist for numbness and weakness. who tested my reflexes. my reflexes are brisk but I've had an over active thyroid. but now apparently my thyroid levels are OK.. I feel trapped in my body almost blocked. I'm just so sad 😞 I'm also scared of seizures because of randomly feeling faint and weak. I'm scared I'm going deaf. I just so terrified . also noticed that my heart is randomly doing strange things like jumping or racing out of nowhere. 😭

yes the chronic anxiety can affect the hearing. Sometimes things sound muffled or there could be ringing in the ears. I recently had both of those but I’ve had tinnitus for many years. Recently I had other sounds besides the ringing and I did have a hearing test which showed mild hearing loss in my left ear. that doesn’t mean that I will be going deaf. So I suggest you might want to get a hearing test.

I really don’t think you have a neurological disorder. I think that the chronic anxiety and stress is causing all of your symptoms as it does mine. As long as you got a thorough check up and everything‘s OK, then you know it is caused by the anxiety. Anxiety and stress can affect the entire body. you can affect the ears, the eyes, the intestines, the stomach, it can cause things like hair loss, etc.

i occasionally get the dizziness feeling and your heart is jumping around because of the anxiety and the adrenaline is causing that.

anyway just remember that the symptoms are not the problem. The symptoms are the result of the main issue which is anxiety and stress. Hope you can get some support! Take care
