Help anxiety and hypochondria is taking over!!!!

Posted , 4 users are following.

I've been dealing with anxiety since January and I'm still worried. It's taking over my left.

I worry about my chest a lot . Scared of a heart attack as well . I've had plenty test done for my heart 3 times and they've all cane back positive. Now my anxiety is mimicking every heart attack symptom I can think of.

Does anyone know how to relieve stress and worry ? Any techniques you can help me with?

I'm only 19, I don't want to be sick.

I have this think I'm going to have heart attack and my anxiety then tells me I'm dying. If doc says ur chest is ok that's good speak to them about anxiety making it worse it's a nightmare. Doc may give you something to calm like diazepam when it's at it's worst( the fear your hearts racing is hell) ask doc to monitor and give small amounts if you do go down meds line. I started taking more as it helped and it led to pure hell. Talk to us often we understand this feeling and can reassure you. This helped me so much felt I wasn't alone or going mad . Let me know how u he get on .would love you to get some peace of mind. I still suffer but good on you for asking advice things get better??

hey, i’ve been struggling with the same problems. it’s all simply just anxiety. after several encounters with paramedics and countless trips to the doctors, i’ve learned somethings. anxiety is a bitch. your anxiety knows exactly what to do to set you off. whether this be chest pressure, sharp pains, racing/pounding heart. just know/try a few of these things...

    1. know that heart diseases don’t just develop over night. they take years upon years to develop. now taken that your heart tests all came back normal is a great sign. your heart isn’t going to just randomly give out on you. i’m sure before you’ve started having this anxiety you weren’t worried about your heart. i know i wasn’t. when we have this anxiety we tend to be very in tune with our bodies, noticing every lil pain. just know that it’s not your heart, it’s the muscles around it causing the pain. although it is infact very discomforting it can’t kill you. know that.

    2. try belly breathing. lay down on your back and simply place one hand on your stomach and one on your chest. make sure the hand on your stomach goes up and down as you inhale and exhale. this sends out a signal to your heart to simmer down a bit if you find that it’s racing/pounding.

    3. pay attention to number 2. if you think you’re having a heart attack, heart attacks don’t go away with simple deep breathing.

    4. write in a journal. this helps me especially. keep track of all your chest discomfort, etc. write down every little detail. that way if you’re experiencing some of the same pains, you can go back and read and realize, “oh this happened before, and i got through it... i’ll get through it this time too”

    5. don’t google symptoms. trust me. it just makes you 272730 times more anxious. i can’t tell you how many times i was anxious with chest pressure, googled my symptoms. saw all these heart diseases and stuff pop up and literally freaked out.

    6. do things that will make you feel more confident. whether that’d be eating healthy, or staying away from drugs/drinks, or whatever. also keep in mind that many people today eat terrible, do drugs and drink constantly and are still ticking away.

you’re going to be alright. we both are. we’re young and healthy. we just have to believe that. we just have to stay strong and push ourselves to overcome this fear about our hearts. try not to worry about it, i know it’s hard but the more you focus on the pains the worse it gets.
