HELP, BLOATING, TRAPPED WIND AND GAS PAIN
Posted , 4 users are following.
Anyone else out there having these symptoms.I feel like I'm on a gastro merry go round.
started with a month solid of night and day hot flushes then they stopped abruptly and left me with ibs type symptoms which had no relief even after bowel movement. constantly feel bloated and stomach making horrendous noises, burping which I rarely do and the worrying pain is a dull ache which started intermittently to begin with mostly on my lower left side but sometimes on the right also. it's not a pain I've had before so worried me as symptoms are textbook ovarian cancer. I've decided to finally book a docs appointment as it's daily now and the anxiety is killing me. hoping someone on here can relate and stop me panicking. I always imagine the worst case scenario and I'm sure my symptoms are half that. π«

Hi Anna
I've got the exact same symptoms and the DR then thought it was ovarian cancer! as my pain was on your lower right!
It was all clear and the DR put me through unnecessary stress! It turned out to be gastritis. I've had it for 3 years had endoscopy all clear apart from mild gastritis. I'm waiting for another appointment to check my colon now as I'm constipated and my bowels have changed so much.
I've had bowel cancer test and gut test all clear.
I'm so fed up as ive now got piles!
I know how you feel

Hi sander
Thanks for that its such a worry I'm sure most of my symptoms are anxiety but until
I see the doctor it won't stop. I do suffer from a sensitive stomach and have had Ibs in the past. fingers crossed its just the crazy hormones I'm 51 and have had various peri symptoms since 47 this one is definitely the worst π«. I'll update you after I see doctor hopefully tomorrow.

ah bless you I'm 44 and had peri since 41:(
Definitely get everything ruled out as you cont always assume its peri. I do the same. I'm always anxious and think the Drs have missed something! I had full bloods and all other bloods done in June.
If your DR send you to do a CA125 test do not do it while on period as it will give you a false result. Do it after your period. Or when you are not on your period.
I did mines on my period and it came back as urgent! They thought I had ovarian cancer and I was fast tracked and ended up having a small polyp taken out of my uterus!
What a nightmare! anyway at least I had all the deep scans done all good!

Hi Anna,
I had similar situation 2 years ago on the right side mostly, but also sometimes on both sides. I know it is misery, and the anxiety is even worse. I am so sorry you are having the same.
Transvag ultrasound didnt find anything concerning.
Ct scan with dye also didnt find anything concerning.
Colonoscopy didn't find anything concerning.
But the pain continued, and moved into my hip until I was limping and considering seeing an orthopedic surgeon.
About a month later I started HRT for hot flashes/night sweats/dry lady parts, and as those symptoms subsided, so did the pains.
All I can figure is my ligaments or my guts were very angry without estrogen, and when I got on HRT they were happy again.
I hope you can find relief soon!!

Glad to share, I hope it helps!!
I started on this combination 2 yrs ago, at age 49. I never connected pain with Perimenopause, otherwise I would have investigated HRT a lot sooner.
I am 51 now, and having breakthrough symptoms, and have an appt tomorrow to get hormones tested to see whats out of balance.
Hugs and prayers to you!

thanks so much. I get so anxious with all the changes. I've had two breast appointments as I found lumps in my armpit and they were superficial but it still makes me anxious

Thanks Sara
A few replies on here make all the difference. I've had a blood test done this morning so will find out more in a week. when I was booking my appointment with askmygp I noticed I had the exact symptoms 12 months ago and went to the trouble of trying to see a doctor then but obviously symptoms went away and I never followed it up. I like to think that anything serious wouldn't go into hiding for 12 months and then reappear. I'm sure it's hormones but would prefer not to go on hrt unless it's gets unbearable.
Thanks
Anna

Hey Anna.....
A negative test result will mean you're suffering from anxiety. It is ONE of the top symptoms of women who are DEEP in the throes of the BIG P & M words! The gastro symptoms you described are NOT abnormal, during this time of your life. I've had them too; several times, might I say... They'd come & go, then reappear out of nowhere, with a VENGEANCE! I am FULL-BLOWN POST MENOPAUSAL and have been for several years! That said, when my period ceased, my symptoms got WORSE; they did NOT get better, as many doctors and bloggers proclaim.. I refuse to take HRT, I've read and heard, it causes cancer, how sad is that? I decided when perimenopause hit me at 42, to take the ALL-NATUREL road, and it has NOT been easy! The anxiety I've been dealing with is absolutely horrific and relentless! Suffice it to say, soooooo.... MANY ROADS LEAD to perimenopause & menopause being the culprits, of the countless symptoms you, I, and other women are experiencing on a daily basis. Imbalanced hormones wreak SEVERE havoc on us womenfolk. Menopause is absolutely horrific! Your mind will play games on you, negative, intrusive , unwanted thoughts will make you think you are CRAY-CRAY, your appetite will decrease & increase, you will have BOUTS of crying for no reason, whatsoever, your mood swings will go from 1 to 100, then from 100-1,000, some days are really UNBEARABLE, to say the least! Hormonal imbalance is no punk and is synonymous with perimenopause & menopause. Make sure you research the vitamins/herbs, etc... you should take, to lessen the symptoms. I thank GOD for this forum, it assures me, I am not alone on this stressful journey!!
Be Well,
Vivian

Hi Vivian
Thank you its so reassuring knowing we have like minded people to talk to. I spoke to my gp today who booked me in for some blood tests which will show if anything sinister going on with the ovaries. Had them this morning so just have to wait a week for the results. Heβs also prescribed me omeprazole for my gastro issues as I've had them in the past and they worked then. Fingers crossed this time next month I'll have another symptom to complain about just one less stressful please!
