Help...Can constant swallowing cause more mucus in your back throat?

So I have posted about my symptoms started weeks ago. It’s not getting any better. Thick mucus/phlegm stuck in between back nose and back throat. Can neither swallow down nor spit out. It’s clear white coloured. It feels so uncomfortable when I swallow my saliva or sometimes when I drink water. I used to be a happy person but my life became miserable since it started, it just gave me too much anxiety. I did the ENT endoscopy didn’t find anything sinister. Also did the gastroscopy and I have no acid reflux.

It’s not like a typical Globus Sensation since it’s not around my Adam’s apple but more upper area. And it doesn’t feel like a lump so much but more like glue. It feels like post nasal drip since I can feel it’s coming down from my back nose sometimes. But the weird thing is that I don’t have runny nose, I have very dry nasal passages.

One thing I couldn’t control myself is constant swallowing. I swallow my saliva a lot a lot, even though I know the “mucus” thing can never be swallowed down but I just can’t stop myself from doing that. Question is, can this trigger more mucus buildup or dripping down? Or it can makes my throat muscle tighter so I’m more sensitive to feel the mucus?

I’m just so helpless and it’s hard to stay positive unless the symptoms go away...anyone had experiences to share?

i can sympathise almost word for word but have not had the tests. its been a problem for at least 6 years. I pull the thick mucus into my mouth and sometimes have to cut it through with my teeth to stop the thread of stuff. I got into the habit of spitting into a tissue but this has made me dehydrated and so i try to swallow which gets stuck in throat.. I am trying to drink more.  I have recently been given Montelucast which has helped dry up the mucus. Almond oil or a bland moisturizer can help in the nose especially at night. I am allergic to perfume and that makes me sneeze which can be a great relief.!Have you been tested for allergies e.g. dust mites, animals etc.

      Hi Jomary,

I didn’t have an allergy test but I don’t believe that I have any allergy since I was a kid...have you talked to an ENT doctor for help?

Hey there is HOPE! New Treatment! Clarifix.

I've had this for over 3 years. been ruining my life. been tested for everything. I too thought I can't do it anymore.

my new ENT said I have Chronic Non Allergic Rhinitis or Vasomotor rhinitis The FDA just approved a treatment for it. http:// clarifix. com. take out spaces.

Basically the nerves in my nose are too sensitive and act like it is an allergy or infection.

this new treatment basically kills the nerve that sends the message to keep producing the mucus. I am so happy, after another CT scan she is going to give me the Treatment. Clarifix, out patient, they numb your nose and basically freeze the nerve. she said it will give me horrible brain freeze nut only for a few minutes. the whole thing only takes an hour.

I am so hopeful. so many of us suffering, I have not been able to work, go to the movies, sleep well. basically no life at all.

I have PTSD and take anxiety and antidepressants and have hypothyroidism. all of these could have caused the problems no one will no for sure. but once that nerve goes nuts it doesn't matter.

I have no zero affiliation with this company I've been searching for over 3 years. I hope to have mine done in April 2019 May at the latest. don't give up.

best wishes to us all. tell the other message boards, this is a new treatment
