HELP.... can’t sleep!!!!

Due to two shoulder surgeries and my surgery that is pending I am constantly in pain in my shoulder, shoulder blade, and my neck... I have been having the most difficult time sleeping the past few weeks. I haven’t been able to get a full nights sleep and it is really affecting me. I am up and down most of the night. Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts of anything that would help this? Anything that could help me sleep and find a comfortable position would be much appreciated!!!!!

Thanks in advance

I can't say much to help as I  too am struggling  I had a failed rotator cuff repair in April Over the past couple of months I have been getting worse and worse  I am no longer able to do any physio  I had some cortisone put in last Thursday and the swelling has gone down a little bit  I am having to try and sleep sitting up  I can't lie on my back or either side now   My left arm is weak so I am having to be careful trying to fill a hot water bottle  I cant lift the kettle so just doing it as safely as I can   I am sitting up using a V shaped pillow as well as three other pillows  I have got a soft feather cushion to lay my arm and hand on  I saw the Dr on Friday as I had developed yet another UTI on top  I asked if he could give me something stronger for the p ain for night  He gave me some tramadol and I have managed a few hours this past 3 nights  I just hope that you have your surgery soon  I am seeing the Consultant a week tomorrow  The appt had to be brought forward  Not sure what he is going to say  Spoke about a  patch ?  who knows  This is not much use to you but know how I am feeling for you and understand Good luck

I had the surgery 4 months ago, and I am still having severe issues sleeping.  What I do and it works sometimes, 2 pillow s under my head, sleeping on my back and one pillow under each arm.  Can't hurt!  Have you tried this?   Usually I have the pillows so my arms are raised at the elbow and wrist.

This was ok for me initially but not at the moment  I have got my pillows armchair mode  One pillow bottom then a pillow each side with 2 pillows on top  I rest my arm on the sloped pilliow or shaped pillow The cushion is soft and feather so not too high I place my arm from my elbow on this  I also use a gel pad heated or a hot water bottle which I place under the shoulder or around the arm depending where the pain is worst  I have pain in the front of shoulder and to the side  Also pain in my upper arm biceps are then also pain on the outside of the arm down to the elbow  I have got some arthritis in my thumbs so I have pain going up my forearm with this  So basically the pain is in the whole arm  Miserable but the swelling has gone down a little and the pain has reduced since I had the cortisone last week  The pain is less when the arm is at rest but still painful when I move it Before the cortisone it was painful all the time   I know it is very soul destroying but hang in  I just have to wait until I see what  my surgeon says next week  I get a lot of pain trying to type as well

Pillows under shoulder while lying down, try upright reclined positions, don't lie on affected shoulder.  Nyquil.
