Help coming off Citalopram

Hi all,

I've been taking citalopram for over two years now and want to try and come off them. I've spoke to the doctors and they told me to wean yourself off them. I was taking 20mg a day but now trying 20mg one day and 10 the next.. I'm finding it really difficult though as my energy levels have gone right down and halfway through the day I can barely stand which is not ideal since I'm a window cleaner and am on my feet all day. I also have these electric shock sensations in my head and feel dizzy. My anxiety has also come back and I'm getting stressed and worrying about little things again. Citalopram saved my life but I don't want to be on antidepressants all my life, I wanna be me again without the drugs. The doctors don't seem to want to help so any advice on here would be great. Thanks in advance. Aaron

    Hi,

I came of Cit before after one year and done it over 2 months.

As far i rem, i went from 20mg down to 10mg and stayed on that for 4/5 weeks, then to 5mg for 2/3 weeks, then 5mg every other day for 2 weeks.

You could prob do 15mg if you have 10mg and split them.
