i waited 7 months to see a nerosurgon as i have a central disc prolapsed t2/3 and am experiancing altered sensation in my limbs and face and weakness on my l side. i finally went last month to be told by the dr he could not give me a tretment plan as the other hospital had not sent mri slide or ANY history of disc prolapsed,in other word he didn t know anything of injury substained following an accident last year.he went on to tell me and my spouse i was in the wrong clinic and hospital and didn t know why other hospital had refered me :!: by this stage we were rather annoyed. my pain treatment is not working as effectivly as it was it takes longer to kick in and doesnt control pain as well so we were hoping for i dont know a small glimmer of hope.i contacted previous hospital who were keen to blame new hospital for mri slide not being requested and said letter was conprehensive and did detail my full injuries and history contacted new hospital and raised these points they said they would phone with in two weeks so i could go on the ward to see consultant rather then be put back on waiting list were still waiting their now saying they will contact me but consultant has been away and i should just wait for letter :!: i dont know what happens now if or when i will be seen or where no body from either hospital is giving any answers they just keep saying other hospital is at fault while i continue in discomfort pain lack of mobility altered sensation ect ect you will know the score proberbly only to well the hospitals continue to argue .PLEASE HELP HOW CAN I RESOLVE THIS AND GET TREATMENT I NEED

oh how many times have the nhs to fail and nothing is done they are a law unto themselves!!!!! i would phone the original hosp and ask that clinic to phone the right clinic and make an urgent appointment with the right doctor. My daughter had this mix up and the wrong doctor she was sent to see made the app at the right clinic for her and the app was phoned to her for 3 days after. you have to make a fuss, (shame) but those who shout loudest and all that. The point about the pain meds not working as well i to am finding that now, but after a bad reaction to tramadol i am afraid to try new ones, (my posts are on disc prolapse). i am afraid to say but when you have seen the right neurosurgeon you probebly be in for a long wait, it is an agonizing injury to have , then to have to wait for treatment, but im sorry to say theres an awful lot of people on the site in the same boat. i hope this is of some use you just have to keep onto them.Let us know how you get on. gail

If you go onto the Category Arthritc/Bone/Muscle, then go down to Disc Prolapse there are hundreds of reports and help.
Hope this may help you.
