help for severe migraine sufferers

After having migraines for 40 years..tried amitryptiline..topiramate..gabbapentin..codeine..dihydracodeine..every triptan ever brought out..finally having botox end of may..need doing every 12-14 weeks 31 needles free on nhs..avoid caffeine and you need to be opiate free to have botox..referal from GP to neurologist etc..DO NOT stop taking opiate base meds without your gps help in reducing doses or you wil suffer opiate withdrawal and the headache is far worse than youer worst migraine ..good luck ill post once had treatment if as successful as led to believe

    Let us know how it goes as this seems to be my only choice left - really interested to know how much difference it may make. Best of luck

    Yes please keep us informed as to how it goes. I've tried everything. I've had a migraine for 4 days now and am stuck in bed. Tryptans are useless and codeine only eases the pain for a short time.

      Codeine eases it but causes rebound headaches i was on codeine for 8 years every painkiller strong enough is opiate based hope u recover soon x
