Hi, I am recovering from surgery after my frozen shoulder. My scapular was prortruding as well, and before my surgery it was a real issue as I found sitting in most chairs really uncomfortable. To help with that I purchased a small blow up pillow which I carried around with me. Wherever I was (train, plane, car) I would just blow up the pillow to try to make myself comfortable. It helped some. My scapula is settling back down now, and my physio says that it will be fine once the shoulder is fully healed and everything has settled back to normal.

Walking for me was never a problem, but I got to the stage where I simply could not drive at all.

    Wishing you a speedy recovery.

      Thank you smile

What's it MUA you had and how did you feel after surgery? Is range of movement back?

      Also was it private procedure?

Hi. Before my surgery I had lost about 90 - 95% of my movement. Surgeon described me as "frozen solid". Surgery was private. Unfortunately my body went into a big defensive mode after the surgery so I really struggled with the physio afterwards. I relisiously did my exercises and it has taken me about 5 months to get about 85% of my movement back. Most people seem to fare better than that - my physio says I was just unlucky. It has taken quite a long time for the pain to drop as well, but I was driving about a month after the surgery, and sleeping has mostly been fine since the surgery as well. Despite my long recovery, would I do opt for surgery again? Yes. Definitely worth it to be able to use my shoulder / arm again normally.

    Best of luck.

Angela, Google winged scapula and longthoracic nerve palsy.

By way you don't get a frozen shoulder from trauma. You most likely sprained the shoulder joint when you tore the A\C joint.
