Help! Haven't been diagnosed with ibs and confused!

Ok to start off I'm 25 years old with no history of colon cancer in my family. I feel like I have had ibs for about 6 years now. It started with a bloathe that I layer realized was caused by constipation. Also I would tend to get bouts of diareah after eating out. Anyways idk if I'm just a hypochondriac but I recently looked up what an "ideal poop" looks like and it's been all downhill. I noticed that I started having floating stool and shortly after last my appetite not sure if it's related but also was and still currently going through major stress. Mainly concerning my health, I could just be overreacting. Since then I noticed my stools have been relatively flat for about 2 weeks could have been longer just started really examining it. Sometimeso they tend to be thinner and sometimes thicker, but with edges. Also for the past 2 days my first bowel starts with the "ideal log" then tapers into a softer poop with edges. I'm terrified it could be cancer just a awhile ago though a passed a bowel that was on the slimmer side wouldn't say pencil thin, but with no edges. Really confuses I also have a hard time passing soft stool I wouldn't say constipated because I go at least twice a day. I recently increased my fiber intake and I suspect it could be hemmeroids or possibly a pelvic floor issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have had IBS-D for the last 10 years and also have pelvic organ prolapse. My advice would be to try not to worry yourself comparing your motions against stool charts, they can be very good to help you communicate what is going on to your health care provider, but we all have our own norms (healthy bowels for one individual may be opening a couple of times and a week and a particular type versus another healthy individual that goes every day). If you have noticed your bowel movements changing from or have symptoms that interfer with your wellbeing, then do see your GP; the likelihood is that what you are experiencing is not something sinister at all.

Thank you for your responses, I wouldn't say it interfereseems well being. I mean it does in a sense that I can't stop worrying about it. It all started when I had lost me appetite out of nowhere. My GP had said that it was possibly from the supplements that I was taking, also I was and still am under a huge deal of stress and anxiety. I mentioned my stools were always different sizes and he said all the symptoms I was describing sounded like ibs and that as long as there's no mucus or blood I shouldn't worry. Well silly me I start to ask dr. Google for advice and it just added a ton of more anxiety and I suggested a colonoscopy and with no hesitation he referred me to a GI and in about 3 weeks I'll be getting a colonoscopy done. Really worries me I hope I'm ok.

I'd say anxiety and stress levels are very much apart of your wellbeing, but it's understandable to worry of course when health issues are up in the air. IBS is often viewed by clinicians to be a condition that is diagnosed once everything has has been excluded, whilst we are moving away from that, I think a colonoscopy would be good to rule out anything and then get you feeling better with an appropriate plan. I've had many colonoscopy procedures, which have all been incredibly straight forward and didn't warrant half of the worry that I felt before the first! Very best of luck!
