HELP pleaseeee!! i just had my first outbreak about 3 weeks ago and it was horrible I could barely walk, I was super swollen down there, and it hurt to pee when I got my first testing done the results said I had a UTI, and yeast/bacterial infection and i took the antibiotics for it and was fine i went for a check up to see if the antibiotics cleared up everything but the results came back that I had hsv2 I'm crushed, confused and depressed. fearful of having another episode I started to taking valacyclovir 500 Ive been taking it every day as prescribed but I started feeling dry and tingly down there again and Im scared it may be the second outbreak Im really busy and I cant afford to be stuck in bed for three weeks again. How soon does the second outbreak reoccur even with taking the supressive medicine. Im just 18 and too scarred to even tell my parents and still really depressed I feel anxious every time i think about it. anybody have any advice to help with coping dating , telling ppl, and career/univ life. Im really scared and I feel awful and alone. I REALLY need advice and kindness. also sorry for the terrible grammar I'm really shook up and stressed.

More people have it than you realize. Do not feel like it's the end of your love life. I am sure you will find a good guy that also got it maybe at a moment of a dumb decision in his life. Listen to what your doctors tell you and search for posts here that talk about how to reduce the pain and effects of the outbreaks. Try to remind yourself that a lot of people have HSV 2 and that you are not the only one going through this as you can see in so many posts here on this website.

Hey. I was wondering what test you had done to find out you have herpes? I want to go get tested myself and I want an accurate test. Blood test? or swab? please help. thanks

if you have an outbreak go get a herpes swab. If it's a blood test do HSV 1 & 2 Igg exam. You should retest 6 months after last sexual encounter to be sure you are clean.

I tested negative 9 months out for type 2. I need to stop reading forums because it makes me not satisfied with my results when u hear people taking longer to show on blood work igg

right? that's what worries me. it's been like 5-6 months since my last possible exposure to the disease. (i dont know for sure if the person had it im just being paranoid) so hopefully that's long enough.

It may be a second outbreak but sometimes it’s just your mind playing tricks! Especially if your newly diagnosed! My mind used to go crazy! I think I caused half my outbreaks 😂😂!! Continue taking your suppressive therapy, get sleep, add lysine and try not to shave or anything! Also try not to stress it really makes things worse!

If you do have another outbreak it will be nothing compared to your first! Before I was on a daily tablet any outbreak I had was gone in 3-5 days.

Im having a hard time with the stress part I have been so anxious lately and everytime it crosses my mind I get really tense and sad. Im scared that I will trigger it because I'm a Bio major so I'm always stressed lol . How often should I expect to have an outbreak even with the medicine? Also any advice on when and how to tell someone? Im not ready to talk to anyone because Im still pretty heartbroken but I feel like I have to hide from guys because I don't to scare or harm anyone.
