Help I'm not coping

I've been diagnosed with RA for a year I'm 43 years old. I was given  methotrexate early last year but got very sick on it so they stop then got gall stones and had to have my gall bladder removed. I returned back to hospital in August and they advised they wanted me to start methotrexate agin but self injecting this time as my stomach could tolerate tablets form. Now I've injected myself 6 times and not feeling any better but worse, I'm suffering with nausea which is normal but I'm also suffering with other unusual side affects that the hospital has no idea if they are linked, like twisted muscle pain under my breasts, tiredness/exhaustion, cramps in both feet and legs, boils in different parts of the body and thrush like symptoms. Has anyone else using or tried methotrexate suffered like this?

Please someone help I'm getting very depressed

Hi Lisaloo, what an awful time your having. Methotrexate didn't do much for me either even when I was injecting it. I don't know about your other symptoms but the thrush like symptom is a sign that your immune system is depleting. My doctor told me this as I had recurring thrush the whole time I was on methotrexate. It can also be a sign of diabetes so maybe ask to see a nurse for a diabetes test just to rule it out. Methotrexate lowers your immune system bringing with it a lot of symptoms on its own. Hope you feel better soon. G.

Thank you Gemma I've been taken off for 3 weeks to see if symptoms stop. Are you taking anything now

I was going to say - if it started soon after starting a new medication the obvious answer is - try stopping the medication! Good luck.
