Help I think I have Globus!?

Hi All
In great need of your help. I've recently had the flu and been off work for a week in bed. It's totally knocked me off my feet. The dr saying I had a viral infection in my throat and left ear.
However around four days ago a lump appeared in my throat and nothing will help it go away. It feels like my throat is closing and someone has their hand wrapped around it constantly. Finding no release in coughing, swallowing, salt water, throat lozenges, hot and cold drinks. Nothing at all. It's making me so anxious that I can't concentrate or function at all.
And after doing some research on the internet alot of people suffer for months and YEARS with this feeling. I'm totally freaking out and scared.
I'm also struggling with sleep with it at night, and the thought of never getting a good night's rest again fills me with dread and terror!
Please help? I'm so scared!

Oh god I'm so sorry to hear this. Is there anything that you can do that eases it at all? How can there be nothing that helps this feeling? And how everything I've read Dr's just turn everyone away!

Also having had the flu for a week I've used a lot of nasal spray to clear my nose to sleep. Could this have caused the lump in my throat?!
When i lift my head up and move it side to side (I've seen this helps on other threads) i can really feel it pulling tight...

no it would not be the nasel spray. yea drs don't know what it is. its a difficult feeling to describe to everyone but it does not feel normal...... coughing up a little pleghm but does not help much too. they say stress causes it too. if there are many issues going on in your life. i had alot going on when mine started. Somehow just have to try forget about the throat. not easy though... keep me informed how you get on.
