I went to the drs back in June last year with acid in my stomach and a pain in my right side that I have had on and of for years! They just prescribed omeprozol and tell me I have ibs I’m 29 and have had this for as long as I can remember I suffer severe health anxiety and have done since a child! I’m convinced I have something terribly wrong with me I constantly have diarrhoea and have had it for years. I went to the drs last Friday to say again I’m experiencing a real burning sensation in my stomach and think it could be ulcers so they have sent of a stool sample and are sending me for a full blood count! They said too call back today for results unless a dr said was urgent then they would call me! I called them and they say the results still aren’t back! I’m in such a state now I can’t focus on anything other than these results coming back with something serious, and to top it off my stomach feels like it’s on fire :’(  has anyone else been through this or is going through this, and does anyone have any advice on how not to panic so much! I’m going out of my mind and I don’t know if this whole thing is just anxiety in my mind! There always seems to be something wrong with me and my partner is getting fed up with me complaining and being negative all the time I just feel so down and so alone

Also I forgot to mention that I have this feeling where I don’t have enough saliva in my mouth it’s worse in the morning and I find it difficult to swallow and can feel like a clicking sensation in my throat

Sounds like your gallbladder or pancreas. If you are in pain, head to the ER IMMEDIATELY!

Anxiety can cause so much within your body and anxiety could be contributing to your stomach issues

    Health anxiety is a beast

Have you considered counseling and/or medication ? Some of us (myself included) need the help of medication to bring things back to perspective

As for your results they would have contacted you right away had they been concerned

    Try to remain calm

Thank you for replying! I have been to numerous counsellors, psychiatrists etc since a child!  I had CBT last year for social anxiety and we only worked on a bit of health anxiety it did help, but only until the next lot of symptoms arose, yes health anxiety is a big bummer rolleyes as for medication it I have tried many and never had any positive outcome sad! I’m just concerned with all this burning in my stomach and wether it is just because I’m so so so anxious, I have a dry mouth constant and trouble to swallow especially in the morning and a clicking in my throat so of course me being me thinks the worst again so I just have so much s**t going on I feel I’m going to explode sad

I noticed for me prior to taking this new med i was having a lit of digestive issues and my anxiety made them worse

Have you tried benzos or ssris?

The burning could certainly be from stress and anxiety

Swallowing could certaintly be from being so hyperaware of your body

      I am on generic lexapro

You need to find something to help you to guve your mind some relief

I guess you have acidic disorder problem that's what burning sensation you feel.

    Try to avoid spicy food.

Take Cold milk before going to bed, your burning sensation will clam down.

    Hey,

I've dealing with this nonsense for years.  It sounds like you have some type of digestive disorder.  I suffer from GERD, IBS, GAD, and Panic Disorder.  It sucks because anxiety can trigger your gut and vice versa until it becomes a horrendous cycle.

Have you ever had an Endoscopy?  I had one years ago and my stomach was a mess.  They knocked me out and it was painless, at least for me.  That's when I was diagnosed with GERD and IBS.  I would request one if you haven't had one yet.

Also I take Omeprazole too and it is really a horrible medicine to take long term.  I have been on it for years and am trying to wean now from the damage it has done to me.  You are not alone.  Check out a GERD forum and see if what you're dealing with doesn't fit the description.

I've been on Omeprazole for years and never had an issue. I also have had Sleeve gastrectomy prior to that and the medicine has never been an issue. Endoscopies are nothing. Not painful at all. I would recommend getting one if you haven't already.

      Hey,

Thank u so much for the reply! I too suffer with GAD and panic disorder as well as ADHD and depressionsad it’s awful not feeling normal rolleyes I had a stool sample taken last week and am still waiting on results to see if it could be h pylori bacteria! And I also have a blood test this Friday, yes dr prescribed me omeprozole but it gave me severe s**ts sorry only way to put it! I have suffered with my stomach for years as in Diarrhea and have always been told it is IBS, the trouble is my dad had been told that for over 20 years and it turns out he has EPI basically his pancreas doesn’t work and can’t digest foods properly and I scared I could have this or something worse (cancer) I feel so alone and I keep freaking out I feel like I’m having a break down and I feel so sorry for my partner having to put up with me like this! Speaking about an endoscopy I’m truly to terrified to have one done in case they find something! I’m scared about having blood tests let alone something like that I have a bad fear of hospitals! Sorry for waffling on I just need to get it out before I go crazy! I’m glad that you got your diagnosis and can now manage your symptoms I soon hope I can do the same, thank u again for taking the time to reply smile
