I’ve been on amitriptyline for 6-7 years for ME. Ive  been well for a few years but no one has  taken me off it. Doctor is now telling me I have to come off due to it affecting my liver. I’m trying and down to 30mg after 6 months but I’m afraid to decrease further. I have serious insomnia and awful sleep patterns and depression. Due to this am day am taking paracetamol and nytol to sleep. Doctor isn’t helping me. How can I come  off them?

I've had ME/CFS for 7 years and I'm going to start taking Fluoxetine [Prozac] soon.  Apparently it is the go to drug in the UK for our disease.  For sleep I use one or a combination of the supplements; Valerian, Inositol 500mg, Niacinamide 250 to 500mg, Chamomile extract, and low dose 100 to 300 mcg Melatonin.  I like these better than Nytol and drugs like that although I've never taken Paracetamol.
