Help. Ibs or pancreas problems?

Hello all
I'm having such a bad time at the minute. I have suffered with ibs for some years. Usually diarrhoea. It lasts a few days or weeks then goes. This time I've had diarrhoea for 2 months on a daily basis. It started off just once a day and now it can be up to 6 times! I had a very stressful event in October last year so my anxiety has been awful since. I was getting tummy pains all over and cramps but then I had an awful pain in my right said and when that eased the pain did too. My main concern is the colour of my stools. They are mainly yellow or lighter brown. I do have some normal looking stools. I can have a brown stool with yellow liquid!! I've had to start taking immodium which helps for a couple of days. I then get constipated but the diarrhoea then returns. I'm so focused on checking the colour I fear going the loo! Sometimes the water looks like it has a oily film. I've had undigested food too. My GP said its all my anxiety and it's just the food going quickly through my body. I understand that but I've never had this before. I'm constantly bloated and full of wind. Some stools have been awful smelling. I have no pain or cramps now when needing the loo. It just feels like i need to pass wind but its then watery diarrhoea. I did initially put it down to my anxiety as it was always happening when I woke. I would wake up fine then withing a minute my tummy would start gurgling and churning then I was off to the loo! It's progressed to the point I'll be fine cooking the dinner and then have to rush to the loo. I feel stuck in the vicious cycle of anxiety. I am so fixated with something being wrong with my pancreas I can't think straight. I tested my blood sugar on Thursday as I felt shaky before my tea and it was a little higher than normal so that totally freaked me out. I have ran out of strips so can't test until they come but I'm already stressing about that. My GP is fed up of me. I've only had a stool test to test for bacteria. I had a blood test a month or so ago and all was fine. I have suffered with reflux for years. I'm on tablets and they don't seem to be working but my GP said it's the anxiety. I do get pains under my ribs at times but not constant. Nausea comes and goes. I just can't get over the colour of my stools. Everything I Google it comes back to the pancreas. I've just started a food diary to see if certain foods set it off. I usually suffer with constipation and god I miss it. I feel so drained going the toilet so much. I can have a normal bowel movement then a yellow one 5 minutes later!? How does that work. Any feed back would be highly appreciated. Feel like I'm going mad!

Sezza I just re-read your post and thought I'd comment, yet again haha.
You say you often experience diarrhoea upon waking and put it down to anxiety. This happens to me too and at my recent specialist appointment I was told that usually occurs as a result of food. It's good that you're keeping a food diary, try eliminating one thing at a time from your evening diet for a week each until you find the culprit.
I eat low fat, take heaps of Creon and a PPI and do all the things that are supposed to help my CP and can still have diarrhoea (well overflow I suppose) several times a day, including first thing upon waking (despite trying to find what might be upsetting me). I had a scan which showed I'm seriously constipated which was hard to believe so I also have 2 weeks off and 1 week on Macrogol (4xdaily) which tends to normalise my bowels somewhat, I feel better for it. My specialist said he'd never seen a scan like it, ever. I'm so constipated that the degree I have doesn't happen in humans he said. Perhaps I'm an alien haha.
So whilst yellow stools can indicate anxiety it can cause malabsorption issues so you really do need to be checked out properly. Finding a doctor who listens to you is key I think. If you have malabsorption you might be deficient in essential vitamins so you should be tested.
You sound very stressed, because of life issues and your health, and I reiterate that you need to address it urgently, with the help of a professional. Don't forget to breathe!

Hello
Thank you for the reply. Yes I think it is the food as the other night i was so hungry before bed so I had a piece of toast and I woke the next morning and was sat on the loo for ages.
Oh wow. So you're constipated but still have diarrhoea? I used to suffer with constipation and i now miss it haha.
Yes I do worry about that. I've not lost any weight yet. Which is amazing with the amount I'm on the loo. When I emailed my GP I mention my worry about that but she never called me back. Just put me on colofac.

I've just been the loo now and there are bubbles in the toilet! Anyone know what this means?
