Hi everyone! I have been suffering with hairloss and itchy scalp for 2 years brought on my stopping the birth control. I have just had my plasma blood results back and 3 of which are quite low but I'm not sure if they could be contributing?

Copper - 12.7 umol ( reference 12.5 - 25 umol )

Zinc - 12.5 umol ( reference 11.5 - 20)

Manganese - 11.7 nmol ( 9- 40)

Urine iodine test - 0.82 umol ( 103ug)

Please help I am so desperate! X

They all look as if they are in the normal range. Didn't the doctor tell you anything?

They are within the ranges although he lowest end. Do you think I would be OK to supplement?

Hair loss is a side effect of stopping taking birth control. I think it is something to do with the reduction in oestrogen.

What is your diet like? I am usually quite careful of taking supplements and try and incorporate vitamins and minerals etc into what I eat. It is a good idea to see if you are deficient and get tested first, some supplements can cause toxicity if you are not careful.

If it's a hair loss problem why don't you check B12 and CBC cos B complex is a great contributer to hair loss I advise not to take supplements alone cos it's not a sure thing that they are contributor to ur hair loss

Hi; I think you really should consult with your doctore or whoever ordered the lab work but I do know hair loss has to do with thyroid also and since the iodine seems to be low that points more to the thyroid; however before taking anything you should consult with either a doctor or a nutritionist.
