Help is my anxiety causing my symptoms or something else

Hi everyone
I suffer from health anxiety and a few Sundays ago I thought I saw blood in my stool.
Think it was actually red pepper. But since then my stools have been getting thinner and yellow. I'm so worried its something bad, I constantly examine my stool and I'm in a high state of panic 24/7.i wake up feeling sick and then have to go straight to the toilet. My whole body is tense and I'm starting to get tired from being on high alert.
I have my two boys at home on lockdown to keep occupied but can't focus and would normally go to the GP but they are not seeing people unless it's an emergency.
So does anyone experience the same when anxious? Change in stool thickness and colour.
Kind regards

hey x
its horrible what anxiety does to us
personally ive had the runs and change in thickness when anxious but never had a change in colour but i know u will read this and worry but please dont
your insides will be stressed so try and divert your attention to something else yes you will still be thinking about the toilet issues but will train your brain that it isnt important xxxx

@lynne93181 thanks for the reply.
I had to phone the GP in the end was getting so stressed out. She's recommended Fibrogel and ibuprofen for now and to give it 2 weeks. She did mention IBS which has been mentioned in the past.
I'll try not to stress but when you can't get out the house it's hard.
Normally I would go out to a national trust or too see family to keep myself busy.

ibruprofen will make the bleeding worse and not good for your stomach. it thins your blood and takes longer for bleeds to clot. drink a lot of water, and take tylenol for the pain instead. i have ibs and hemmoroids, for years, i know what i am talking about.

probably have a hemoroid. if its red thats most likely what it is and not a life or death thing. if its purple or dark red, then you have problems and need to see a doctor asap. i have ibs to go along with my anxiety. women get periods once a month, i get hemoroids that bleed once a month. stay away ftom ibrophrophen as it will thin your blood and making the bleeding worse. but i would relax, its nothing to worry about and in a day or so you will see the red disappear. straining to go potty is not good. but as an anxiety sufferer, i font have the patience to sit there and wait. so thats my problem. hope this helps and you are not alone.
