HELP!! Itchy, burning toes that started with a blister

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hello! I'm new here and reason being is that something is horribly awry with my toes! Back in June of 2017, I noticed an itchy, painful feeling on my right big toe. I noticed a small blister under the nail on that toe, which was the cause of the soreness and itching. I was scratching it so hard that it popped and clear fluid drained out.

Shortly there after I noticed clusters of mini blisters around the cuticle and toenail that would itch something fierce! I would scratch them til they'd bleed. Same kind of itching similar to a bad mosquito bites. Then followed scaley, flakey cuticles and more itching, and severe dry crusty toe. This has continued ever since, now it is February 27th 2018 and my issue has recently spread to the 3 toes next to the big toe, and now my big toe is red and swollen and gets such a bad painful itch that cannot be relieved. I've literally pondered scratching it with a cerrated steak knife it itches that bad! I've tried every fungal foot cream you can buy, toenail fungal polish, vinegar, alcohol, bleach, hydrogen peroxide, triple antibiotic, etc. Nothing helps! I do not have health insurance so I've been avoiding going to the doctor, but I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and go. Can someone possibly identify what in God's green pastures is affecting my toe....now toes?

Hey there! smile  Sounds like it might be infectious indeed, and due time to see your doctor.  Also, may want to consider trying essential oils (EOs), particularly Tea Tree Oil.  Research it online and you'll find there are many benefits.  If you're here in the US, you can pick up a reasonably priced bottle @ Trader Joes or a health goods store.  I use it bi-weekly before bed (one drop on each toe and in between) to maintain good foot health, and helps keep any potential fungal problems at bay from pedicures.  Currently am using it in a mixture w other EOs (lavender, rose hip seed oil, etc) to help minimize foot inflammation/swelling while doing range of motion exercises and foot massages after a recent bunionectomy.  Tea Tree Oil has a nice cooling effect which feels nice and it's done wonders for me.  In your research will learn it's a known ingredient used to fight a wide variety of viruses, fungi and bacteria strains, and can heal psoriasis, eczema and even dry skin in addition to naturally healing scars... just to name a few.  Just an idea!

Hope your issue gets identified and healed soon!
