Help !! Ive made a mistake

Yesterday morning I should have taken 4mg ( I am on 4,4,5 ) and guess what I realised I have taken 20mg 4x5 !!!!!!

We went out for a lovely dinner at a Hotel hosted by friends who were married on the Arcadia recently and it was a lively evening the champagne and wine really flowed and I didnt sleep well but put it down to the alcohol !!!!!

That was until I looked at my tablets this morning !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been on non coated 5mg for some time now with no problems and normally the 5mg are a squared of tablet but these arent they are just like the 1mg and I know I had started a new pack and there are 4 missing !! I then realised why my head had buzzed all night !!

I will obviously be careful in future but has anyone else done this before ?

I need Eileen really to tell me how this will affect me I am now a bit worried that if my body doesnt have 20mg today it will start to ache again ??

Very cross with myself as my reduction had been going well I had done an extra week at this level as had a busy week and trudging through the wind and rain with my horses this week hadnt been much fun

I think I will have to follow Lizzie Ellen and put my tablets in a weekly box

Any experiences would be appreciated or am I the one who has done this !! I cant undo what Ive done just annoyed

Best wishes

Mrs G

:yikes: £447? Even I needed picking up off the floor when I read that and its not even my bank balance taking the hit. And, yeh, I'm always on the lookout for the odd stray nail when I'm bombing down the M3 (bang on 70mph of course)

Good God - what sort of vehicle do you drive???? Or are the tyres gold-plated???? I pay less than that for 4 snow tyres! Though I suspect there are fancy low-profile snazzy ones that are more - despite the fact that that is the reason for the SE grinding to a halt with half an inch of snow...

You have shocked us all !! I thought mine were more expensive last time at about £100 for 2 !!

I had to have a new tyre just by driving over where someone had been cutting field hedges Blackthorns are almost as bad as nails

    Hope you are feeling better

We know all about blackthorn here, too. But £4oo+ for two tyres sounds pretty awful. Seem to remember yours is a Volvo estate like ours, Mrs.O Must admit we have been lucky lately but went through a dire patch and were offered insurance which cost £3 per tyre and replaced free of charge if un reparable ( or is that irreparable ?) within 6 months and 50% within 12 months. As we live half a mile up an unmade track

( optimistically called private road ) we have found that well worth while.

Yes, Betty, like your's it is a Volvo Estate. We've had two similar Volvos previously but not with such costly tyres. This Volvo has a higher wheelbase (easier for me with my spinal problem to get in and out) hence the exhorbitant price tag for the larger tyres I assume. Hope I don't come across any Blackthorns now Mrs G! Oh well I did win a premium bond this month - all £25 of it!

    Hell[ All

Another week on and I am back to sleeping normally and have calmed down !!

So it appears that taking one extra dose like that is fine ( well for me anyway ) I wouldnt want to rock the boat too much but I suppose if you had something really tiring coming up you could take extra steroids to get you over it My Practise Nurse said her father who had PMR would always take 5mg more whenn he was playing Golf even though she told him not to !!

I am now down to 4mg so will sit there for a few weeks while I plan my next assault on the steroids !! I am sat at the computer so early because I have just taken my Alecdronic Acid

I am not looking forward to this very cold weather they are forcasting !!

    Hope everyone is feeling OK

    Best wishes Mrs G

Hello Mrs G. Glad all is well, whatever that means with PMR! You and I both had a similar blip at the start of the year so I'm really pleased to hear you're down to 4mg. I have only made it to 7.5, but then I hadn't got lower than that before the blip. it seems to suit me to go really slowly - it has taken about 6 weeks to go down 1/2 mg!!

I was interested to hear the idea of going up a few mg if there's something extra going on in one's life ...... most of us, I know, don't think of reducing just before a holiday, say. Have others tried deliberately increasing their steroid dose?

I sympathise with the alendronic acid _ I just dread the day I'm due to take it. Whether I need my early morning cuppa too much or what I don't know but I get quite miserable. I do tend to feel slightly nauseous for a while but nothing too bad - it's probably more psychological than anything! I like my early morning routine that gets me going!

Not too cold here yet but the weather forecast keeps threatening it, very grey tho'.

have a nice Sunday everyone, Pam

    Hi Green Granny

Yes I like you love my cup of tea in bed is a real pleasure

I now take my Alecdronic Acid on a weekend sit up for half and hour then take the tea back to bed for my husband !! As he provides my early morning tea on weekdays Not sure what will happen when he retires it will probably be whoever wakes up first !!

I too dont like taking it and sometimes feel a bit nauseous but I too think it it is all in the mind

Keep hearing the Snow word on the television NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Best Wishes Mrs G

Hello Green Granny and MrsG and everyone else looking in!

Is it me or is anyone else starting to stiffen up and feel less comfortable already in this weather? I'm wondering if it's psychological but I'm starting to dread the winter each year, especially after my chillblains last year! As for the forecast of snow in November (us mortals down South are not as hardy as you Northerners, I fear  !) I think I'll go into hibernation - I'm already putting [b:0b71da78ef]2[/b:0b71da78ef] hot water bottles in my bed

Well done at reaching 4mgs Mrs G, and Green Granny even half a mg reduction is going in the right direction :D .

Happy Sunday everyone and keep warm and happy in spite of the forecast :snowball:
