HELP ME!

Posted , 1 user is following.

I'm 18 and have had constant problems with my hands, at the age of 13 I had a carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand and a week later on my left. I was diagnosed with Reflex sympathetic Disostrphy Syndrome I was given a high dosage of Amitriptyline and Gabapentin, 2 years later this stopped due to a new GP, age 15.

Since I have continual pain and my right hand clamps up. Since July 2012 it all started again, I went to my New GP and got signed off work in October 2012, come December my symptoms worsened and spread in to my legs, I am not able to walk long distances because of the pain, I am constantly feeling numb and cold. I am unable to hold a knife and fork, hold the Hoover or wash up. This is a big problem for me as I don't live with my parents, I live in my dads house but he is in the army living with my mum and sister,

I have been to physio NHS and Private, Occupational therapy, tried Hydrotherapy, and been to see a Rheumatologist, and none helped.

On Monday I saw a Chronic Pain specialist and she has put me back on the Gabapentin along with Versatis 5% medicated plasters, I am already taking Amitriptyline and Co-codamol.

No one knows what's going on with me and it is effecting my life! I have been diagnosed with all sorts and nothing is helping.

Any advise please??

Hi zoe1403, what type of treatment procedures have you taken? How are you now?

Only what I have mentioned in my post.

Over time I started to feel stronger, I felt like giving up.

I can now do normal things however at times I feel very drained - walking is still an issue.

that's a good sign. i normally do home or simple desk exercises and they do help. don't change what works.
