Help me identify what these white dots on my chest are

Posted , 4 users are following.

I've had these for years and maybe I'm imagining it but they seem to be getting worse. They don't hurt and you can barely feel them when you touch the skin, but they significantly change the appearance of it, the photos don't show that quite well though.

I've been to a GP and a skin therapist and somehow neither could identify it is or give me any indication as to how to treat this.

They are called Milia. The best way to deal with them at home is to use a firm soft facial brush and body wash to work up a lather on them. Leave for one minute then rinse off thoroughly. Dry thoroughly. Then massage in some body lotion. if you can find one that is oat based that is perfect.

Do this every day before bed for a week then alternate days for 2 weeks then once per week. Obviously dont scrub at your skin and make it sore.

They are tiny blocked cysts under the skin. Not acne. Dont pick at them or you may find they get infected.

If you love sunbathing then make sure you use a high SPF on this area.
