HELP ME PLEASE!

Okay so this all started a couple of months ago at college where I had a fast heart rate that would last all day and sometimes stop the next day only to start again later on in that next day and this whole thing lasted for a couple of days or maybe two to three weeks ( I can't remember) and stopped. Now after a couple of months I had this strange feeling in the heart area which I couldn't describe along with a warm feeling. So I went to the hospital and they gaze me an ECG which was fine and they listened to my heart which is when they told me I had an irregular heartbeat and when I said I was worried about it being heart disease or a blood clot and they said not at my age (I'm 18) I also had my legs checked as I would have a strange feeling kind of like something was rushing or moving up and through my legs when I lay down and they said my legs were fine too so they sent me to a doctors surgery after the doctor at the hospital said something about electrolytes or an electrical current through the heart? Something like that and when I got to the gp they told me these irregular heartbeat are known as palpitations so they gave me some propranolol and after the first week or so if taking them it got rid of the strange feeling in the heart area but a couple of days after the feeling of something moving\rushing up my legs returned, so did the warm and weird feeling in the heart area and my legs would also feel weak when walking aeound. I've also had diarrhea which is probably a side effect, I've gotten really hot, my hands sweat, I've a headache, pressure\heavyness in my back and a slight heavyness in my chest, a strange almost right feeling in my cheeks, a pressure\stiffness on the back of my neck for like two weeks now and in the last couple of days the feeling in my legs ( the rushing and weakness) has gone, so has the neck pressure, the only thing I have had in the last few days is the back pressure and the slight pressure\heavyness \uneasy feeling in my chest and a new symptoms has appeared which is my left arm feeling slightly heavier\more tired than usual and I'm really scared that this could be a sign of heart disease but because I've told my parents all these symptoms only to be dismissed as a hypochondriac especially after the ECG and doctor listening to my heart didn't find anything what am I supposed to do? Also this slight heavyness\tiredness in my left arm has been there since last night and hasn't really gone away so I'm scared as hell so someone please tell me what to do? I've gotta wait until Monday for a result from another ECG.p but I'm scared that something could happen before then sad

Thomas, you had a good result at the doctors today, so please take the meds she has prescribed for you, they wont do you any harm otherwise she wouldnt have given them to you by law they can only give you a certain amount. yes you may have side effects but we all get them and yes it takes about 2 weeks sometimes to get in your system so please Thomas, just take them and have a good night sleep

Well the problem I have now is that without Zopiclone I can't sleep and all my other symptoms have eased off except for this vibrating feeling in my chest and backside, a warm feeling in my left arm that comes and goes, a warm feeling in the left of my chest that comes and goes (the warm feeling lasts for most of the day and then goes for a while) and the occasional pain on the left or right side of my chest that lasts for a couple of seconds. I haven't slept for two days now without Zopiclone and tonight I got a sense of panick\a feeling of adrenaline when I close my try to sleep and since I've had pain on the right side of my chest tonightt I have a feeling I'm gonna call through my bed (strange I know ), my legs felt a little shaky earlier as did I and it also made me need the toilet straight away and I had a slightly sogy stomach.

Hi Thomas, nice to hear from you as you havent written for a while. Have your GP taken you off zopiclone? I use Kalms Sleep herble tablets, they help me alot, they are meant to get you in the habit of going to bed and sleep, they work for me, so why not give them a try. Try not to feel anxious again about what is happening in your body, because if you went to the hospital your test would be normal, I know its hard not to feel these things and get panicky. Try and stay calm and hopefully if you get the Kalms Sleep you take about 3 tabs to start with and as you gradulary get used to sleeping you decrease them. Im on 2 a night but did get down to 1 a night but then went back. Hope they work for you

Well as I said my doctor was reluctant to give me the Zopiclone as it is addictive and since I've already taken it for one week and so far I've had a few nights without sleep, then one night I was laying in bed and I just fell asleep and the weird thing is I don't remember falling asleep and then I got into a pattern of 1 night without sleep and then the night after I fall asleep and now I've been able to sleep for several nights in a row :D. Now as for my symptoms I still have them but they aren't as bad as before and I think that when I go back to college next month so I actually have something else to occupy my thoughts, I think my symptoms will go away. Also I'm on holiday for a week starting from tomorrow so that should help as well.

Basically I'm learning to live with it until it goes away.

Good news! I saw a third GP today (I've seen two different one's) he checked my blood pressure, breathing etc and said I was fine. He also reassured me that Sertraline is safe. I've now bit the bullet and taken my first tablet which has already made me feel better :D

I should probably apologize to my GP for not taking the Sertraline and also say thanks because it's working.

Goo,.d to hear from you Thomas, and the sertraline is working for you, and are you still sleeping well even if its everyother night. You can start college with a clear mind and do well. Very Pleased to hear that you are so positive. Take care

Yeah I'm sleeping a lot better now and every night actually smile. I'm hoping that the Sertraline will help with presentations at college because I can't help sounding nervous when doing one.

I've noticed that the Sertraline has made my mind silent and normally It's gave bad thoughts, like I'd think that something bad was gonna happen because of the scary anxiety symptoms but now these thoughts have stopped.

I've also decided to do a log or dairy which says what happens each day that I take Sertraline and how I feel which I could always show to my GP.

good to hear that you sound so much better, carry on with the sertraline, I am also on sertraline, it has helped me to get out of a very dark hole!!!

      good luck at college.

I have to keep taking it. It's dangerous to stop it suddenly lol. I have to take 1\2 a tablet for 1 week and then a whole tablet for the rest of the time. I've heard treatment can be for up to six weeks so I might be on it for a while.

      Thanks.

I agree, you cant just come off them because you feel better for one day, you must always take advice only from a doctor. They gradulary upt my sertraline so now on Max dose which is at 200mg, its helping thats all I can say but unfortunatly my body get used to the meds then they stop working and I have to gradulary come off them and start something else but they are running out of ideas because I have been on so many in the last 30 years, and they just say thats how my brain etc (if I have one) works but its not good for my family to see me gaining courage and then the next week dropping right down. But I am used to it now, but it still dont help.
