Help needed with endoscopy report please

Posted , 4 users are following.

I had an endoscopy yesterday and under Findings and Conclusion the report says Lax GOJ . The report wasnt explained to me, i was just told to continue with the omeprazole but to take it half hour before food for maximum effect. I googled Lax GOJ and was shocked to read its gastro oesophageal junction cancer! This has left me feeling shellshocked and i cant believe it, surely it cant be right? Surely if someone has cancer theyre told by the consultant, not left to find out via google?

4 biopsies were taken, surely they cant know i have cancer until they get the results from these biopsies? It also says under conclusion: No oesophagitis seen. Mild antral gastritus. food residue and bile in stomach, possibly slow transit. Food residue in duodenum.

Please can anyone help explain my report?

this is why you shouldn't use Dr Google! lax GOJ means the sphincter at the top of your stomach is letting acid out into you oesophagus. mild gastritis is irritation of the stomach. slow transit means exactly that - your stomach is tempting slower than it should.

Its odd the doctors did not inform you properly. It may be because its early stages or the potential of cancer. It may not be anything too serious but early signs. Everything else seems normal to me.
