I am prediabetic and taking met foreman. Currently, in rehab and still having problems sleeping on my left side.  Also experiencing pain in my neck my physical therapist saying the same thing. Pain in my neck is probably coming from my shoulder. Talked with my primary care doctor referred me

to see an orthopedist  that has more experience treating shoulder problems.

Sorry to hear you are going through so much at one time. Is your doctor focused more on the frayed rotar cuff or frozen shoulder? With my first frozen shoulder (right and 18 weeks PT and it took 18 months to recover)  it was extremely painful. I had just back from Afghanistan and everyone wanted to hug me. I remember one time I about passed out from the pain. Then four years later the left starts then I fell (April) and the left shoulder took all the weight. Didn’t sleep for months. Physical therapy for four months but it would not get full range of motion-stuck at a certain point. Surgery November 30th. Been in PT since with great results. I had bone spurs and didn’t know. I kept saying the left frozen shoulder was different from the right. I was right. If it is frozen shoulder; get in to PT-you need a good one. Hope this helps

He kinda of dismissed the frozen shoulder and said let’s do a cleanup.. clean off the bone spur etc...but I definitely have some frozen shoulder..radiologist said there was bone marrow edema which is indicative of frozen shoulder..I can’t move my arm in certain direction .. I get excruciating pain..and like it’s stuck...it tires easily and feels heavy.. grrr and now my right arm muscles are feeling a bit painful which makes it really bad

If there bone spurs as I had. PT actually  aggravated shoulder. The left arm became inflamed and larger than the right. Yes ma’am it does hurt 😢. With me during surgery is when the spurs were discovered and removed. The last couple of weeks I have seen a significant improvement and the swelling of the left arm has gone down.  Are you considering surgery?

Yes.. but we are tasking a trip the end of February overseas and since I do have fraying I didn’t want to come out of surgery needing PT everyday in case there is a deeper tear

    Hi rebecca74366

I have been having left shoulder issues since June 2017. I finally went to the doctor where I was sent for a ultrasound of my shoulder, where I found out I have a frozen shoulder. I too have thyroid issues. I am unable to lay on my left side at all, even with a pillow under my arm (no go). Best position to sleep is on my right side only or on my back. I have pain in my shoulder, back of arm, elbow, wrist, front of arm, collar bone and shoulder blade. Total of 8 months of pain, tried every med and have tried the hyrodialation into the shoulder also (didn't work). So I am off to the doctor tomorrow 1/4/2018 to see what I am going to have done. I am now unable to lift my arm from my side, cant dress myself, cant shower without help, cant dress myself properly, hard to drive, its just plain cruel. I am a regular now at the ER department here, but they are unable to do much more for me, and have said its the worst frozen shoulder they have ever seen.

Try a massage. I went once a week for a couple months and pan is almost gone. Still go once a month now and have almost full mobility back. I did also take glucosamine, fish oil and collagen pills.  No doctors or physical therapy.
