Hello! I am new here. My symptoms started at the end of October. I have been on a roller coaster. At first it was what felt like kidney pain (right side). I was convinced I had a kidney infection. When no infection was found, I was convinced it was a kidney stone. No stones were found. I've had an ultrasound of my kidney, an abdominal Ct scan, an ultrasound of my gall bladder, 7 urine tests (all clear), 4 cbcs and 1 thyroid test and a rib cage x ray. All have come back fine.

When getting the ultrasound of my gall bladder, I realized the pain was on TOP of my ribs instead of under. AND it seemed to be where the cartilage was on images I pulled up online.

These are my symptoms over the course of the month (some of them were only in the beginning and some of them come and go).

heart pounding

heart palpitations

weakness

dizziness (feeling drunk)

no appetite

night sweats

urgency to pee

waves of nausea

blurred vision

Heres my questions-

My pain is on my right side just below the sternum where the ribs start to bend and at the very lowest rib on the same side (which is why i think I thought I was having kidney pain). Has anyone else had pain that low?

Also, I have started taking cbd oil for the inflammation/pain. Has anyone else tried it and has it worked?

And I guess last but not least, do these symptoms sound typical?

Thanks in advance for your time!

    Hi Nakai,

I've also had pain that low and have periods where I also think it's a kidney infection. My pain is all over my ribcage and sternum. I also have some issues catching my breath sometimes.

Some of your symptoms could be related to costochondritis, but I would make sure you've had a full work-up done to rule out anything else. While a CBC is an indication of overall health, it often doesn't address many issues you could be dealing with. Sometimes you need to have more targeted testing done.

For example, I also have no appetite and nausea which are related to depression and gluten intolerance. My blurred vision is due to dry eye disease, which I had no idea I had.

Have you shared all of your symptoms with your doctor? If you have and s/he hasn't done a full work-up (and is focusing just on your kidneys), I would ask her/him about it.

So sorry for all your going through. When I was first diagnosed with Costro and Fibro Myalgia it was not fun at all. lots of visits to the er. Many of the same symptoms your experiencing. Have you tried Arnica gel? heating pad? Ice? also if you can anti inflammatories..they help alot. Another medicine that was so helpful was Gabapentin. Prescribed by my doctor. Hang in there. I t will get better. Good luck!!!!! God Bless

hi grace! thank you! good to know! what were your symptoms for fibro?

      thanks for responding!

Thanks for this. I am having intense pain right now - joints and in-between, if that makes any sense. The only thing that doesn't hurt is my face. I'm thinking I might have fibro in addition to costo, but I haven't had a doctor yet who has put 2 and 2 together. I see a new doc on Monday, but how do you all approach a discussion about these two?

Ice helps my costo, too. The only thing that helps. Hard to apply at work, though.

I am so sorry, Diane. That sounds terrible! I went to a chiropractor yesterday and I have to say, I think it helped! She was very knowledgeable about costo and seemed to think after a couple of visits I would be better! You may want ti just give it a shot! Prayers to you!

I just told my Dr. all the symptoms I was having and that I did some research and could it be Fibro Myalgia. Theres a questionnaire that you answer questions. Based on your answers you get a score. If your score is higher than you have it. Gabipentin really helps as well as ice or heating pad(Depending on the weather) I get hot flashes lol. And have you tried the Arnica gel? My Dr. is just amazing and sent me for many tests and to several specialists to rule out anything life threatening. Thank God Costro and Fibro arent life threeatening!!!! It really does get better. Promise. Hang in there!

hello I have had this for 14 months similar symptoms all the test and have found a couple things that helped. Liquid gel ADVIL. Also go to chiropractor for adjustment and have him adjust my sternum which helps. Use a heating pad held up to my chest and a tens machine. Have done extensive research it can last for years no cure. Good luck

Hello, I know you posted this a while back, but I'm wondering if your pain went away from costo? I have it and damn its painful and annoying. Nothing could of brought this on that I can think of. I was really stressed, so I'm wondering if that brought it on, plus the weather. I've been taking CBD oil and it seems to be working. Im taking it at as a high dose. I hope your feeling better. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
