Help please! Hsv2?

Well I'm here because I don't actually know if I have hsv2 but all the symptoms are there! What started it was one Sunday I woke for work and before I went to work I showered and masturbated(hey I'm human) lol well when I got out I started burning and when I looked down with a mirror my virginal was red so it freaked me out but I thought it was from the friction in the shower. So it felt kind of itchy with a burning sensation, but totally manageable. So when I got off work I looked down there and I seen 3 lesions in different spots(not bumps or a blister) that was covered in a white layer. So I rushed to the hospital and the doc took a look and said he was 99.99% sure it wasn't hsv and thought it was a yeast infection so he gave me a shot in my hip just in case it was an std to.. so when I got home and took a look it looked totally different like thrush or something.. so when I got it the shower and washed down there all of the white stuff had washed off and the next day it was completely gone but the burning sensation lasted for weeks with no lesion.. and then two weeks later I started getting a terrible headache on my right side of my head and neck and it lasted for a week and now it's off and on.. oh and I went back and did a full std check including hsv and it came back negative with the exception of BV.,, so can someone please help me and give me some kind of insight on what they think!

Herpes wouldn't clear that quickly, plus you tested negative (by which test, how long after the bumps?). Could well be the BV that's been causing the burning sensation. Not sure what the white bumps were, but if you were treated for yeast and they cleared, then it could be yeast like your doctor suspected. Continued headaches are unrelated to herpes and BV.

It was a blood test I did like two weeks after the symptoms, and when the doc tested for yeast in the ER it came back negative . My Obgyn gave me diflucan pills which didn't help the burning go away. I did use summers eve ph balance wash and I thought that could have gave me some kind of chemical reaction since I've never used it before, but that was like 4 days before I got this irration down there..

The blood test was too soon to test for new infection. They should have swabbed for herpes instead. Even so, herpes lesions don't clear in a day, so whatever it was, it wasn't herpes. The burning could still be BV, since they ruled out yeast. The pH needs to be acidic. Antibiotics are sometimes prescribed for symptomatic BV that doesn't go away by itself.

Hi Mel - it's Angelgyrl. Sounds like your doctor was just 'guessing' at first by calling it a bacterial infection. But if you had a culture done and it came back positively as Herpes 2, then you have Herpes 2. Which honey, is not the end of the world. I'm learning this myself. I was devastated when I was first diagnosed too, but as time goes on it gets a little easier. What I have learned is that this is a VERY common disease! Lots of people have it, lots. Some don't even know yet because they've yet to have an outbreak. This virus can lie dormant in your system for up to 30 years! Then, something happens, an extremely stressful period in your life (this was my reason), or something else that just activates the virus. But it's really not the end of the world Mel. You'll be ok, I'll be ok. It's just something we have to learn to live with.We now know that we can never again have unprotected sex, that is we ARE considering sex with someone, we have to tell them that we have this disease and give them the choice of having protected sex with us or not. You CAN continue to have an intimate relationship with a man, as long as you use protection, and use it correctly. We will get through this, one day at a time....

hey Mel ! Those could have been 'mini outbreaks'. I've read that after your first outbreak, any future ones are usually less severe. And everyone is different as to how many outbreaks they have. Keeping ourselves as healthy as possible is the best thing to do. Remember, taking Vitamin D3 is good to do. As far as any discharges you have had? You should always see your doctor for something like this. Could just be a yeast infection or something like that. But it's best to let a doctor see what you are seeing and give you a diagnosis. Yes, I have arthritis also! So we have that in common! Seems like the older I get, the more aches and pains I get lol. My birthday is tomorrow and I am turrning 62 can't believe it! Yep, learning how to cope is a really good thing....I'm doing the same. Well, gotta get ready for work so I'll talk to you later! HUGS........
