    Hi Kmm

I take zoloft for anxiety, and for me it has been a roller coaster. I am about to start week 5. I can feel the difference but still have anxiety peeking its ugly head around the corner. I have learned on this forum that it can take awhile for some people and not so long for others. You are at the right place for answers and support. Be strong.

Can I ask did you feel emotionally numb at first is this just a side effect will it go?

It's still early. Stick it out and you'll feel better. Give it a few more weeks. Zoloft takes forever to get going but is great once it does.

Hey Kmm, I had the exact same experience. I was getting better but around week  3/4 there was a massive dip in my mood and my anxiety and depression got really bad. But by week 5 I feel so much better. Give it time, it can be such a rollercoaster of emotions but it means the medication is working.

Stay strong, it will get better!

Yes! I felt detached from myself and everyone around me for the first week, second week I felt amazing, 3rd week I was feeling down again which made me panic, 4th week I had really bad depression...I am only now starting to feel like my old self again. It takes time, but its worth the wait. I found that it helped to remind myself that these thoughts are not mine but a side effect of the medication.

I know when your going through this you sometimes believe your never going to get better and its going to be like this forever...But don't believe it, emotions are fluid and change all the time. You'll be alright.

      Stay strong!
