Help plse with taking painkillers after hip replacement when I'm already taking sleeping tablets.

Hi all, I wonder if someone could advise please? I'm going to have a hip replacement in 5 week's time and I know I'll need painkillers for at least a while. I can't take anti inflammatory painkillers and when I spoke to someone at the hospital a couple of weeks ago they said they could give me Morphine or Tramadol. I take Nitrazepam at night and have since found out when searching online that Nitrazepam and other sleeping tablets slow the breathing and mixed with something like Tramadol or Morphine can be deadly and stop the breathing! (I have a feeling I read somewhere that something similar was the cause of Michael Jackson's death). I'm really worried now. Although I take Nitrazepam, sometimes it just doesn't work as I've been taking it for so many years and I can literally go all night without having fallen asleep & I'm up & down to the loo too. So what would I do for painkillers? Hoping someone can help plse. I know I can check again with the hospital/gp etc but sometimes you're given conflicting advice and I wondered if anyone had taken this type of painkiller after a hip replacement while taking sleeping tablets. Many thanks in advance, Carrie

this is only temporary until you heal. sleeping is a short term issue until your about 12 week. normal issue during short term healing. take one day at at a time . it will get easier as healing is different for everyone. i have been thru 3 THR surgeries. its a matter of time and healing at this point. sending good vibes your way.
