This is my thrird day after ovarian cyst removal together with the ovary. I am normally healthy, drink raw juice every day, organic fruit and veg, having not 5 but 15 a day! Feel bloated in my bowel and of course a lots of discomfort, fearing the worst when I finally have BM one day!
Please let me know what worked for you post operation. Any advice will be highly appreciated!

I'm a week and a half out from my surgery. They gave me an over-the-counter stool softener due to the pain killers (Oxycodone) causing constipation. I was also having raw juice and lots of veggies and it still took about 3-4 days for my first BM. After that they slowly became more regular. Try drinking as much water as you can.
Rest up!

im in a similar position to you, I am 3days post op I have had open surgery to remove 2x Dermoid cysts one on each ovary, the operation was quite straight forward I believe and both ovaries have been saved. I didn't really fully understand how painful and hard this recovery would be just getting up and around is a task in its self but I am also now faced with not having been to the toilet and it's making me really anxious. I know it's early days I am only taking ibroprofen and paracetamol to see if this would help, I have had prunes and lots of juice but no help so far, did you find a cure or was it just time ?
Hope you are recovering well

I had my operation last Monday and started to panic on Wednesday feeling bloated and heavy in my bowel area. My BM started the following day bringing the end of bloatness and feeling pregnant. I have been going to the toilet normaly every day since then. I am having a prune juice every day in addition to my usual - raw juice and salad. I literally have a big variety of fruit an veg every day plus smoothy for breakfast (natural org. yougurt and banana). I started doing this since founding out about my health problems (I am 47 and my mother died of ovarian cancer) and was preparing myself for the operation. I stopped taking the painkillers and ibuprofen on the second day and strated having a tea with fresh org. ginger (grated) and honey instead (I hate a taste of ginger in a juice). This is what works for me I believe. I do feel better with every passing day and I slowly increasing the amount of household work. But.. I only have three small holes in my abdominal (I've already pulled out the stiches from the smallest two). The open surgery of course is more serious and the aftermath is more painful. Best of luck, Carly, I do hope you will feel better soon! Hugs.
