HELP! Rusty/Orange Splotches on Palms and Fingers

Posted , 3 users are following.

So my Mom texted me this photo (along with a couple others), showing rusty/orange coloured spots on the inside of her left hand and up the fingers. Picture enclosed.

She says she woke up to it like that. Was fine prior to bed. She doesn't use self tanner and no household cleaners or such have been changed up.

I haven't yet asked her much about any potential increase of Tomatoes, Carrot intake... as I've heard that could cause temporary staining on the skin.

Any idea's what this could be a cause of? She suffers from Thyroid issues, has a nodule that they keep an eye on. She has Gastroparesis. Hemochromatosis. Blood Clot near one of her Kidneys. Osteoarthritis. Off the top of my head that's all I can think of. I know her circulation is bad too. Not helped by being a smoker.

I thought maybe the nicotine stains from smoking, but on the palms?

Let me know what all you think? Please and thank you!

Possibly blood flow under the skin. I think you should exercise and check your hands after some time. The problem should go away by itself, if it doesnt then you should see the doctor. Give it a few weeks.

Ps. tomatoes do not damage or leave stains on the skin. I love tomatoes and have never had a problem.
