Help scared to take sterline

Hi I've been prescribed sterline 50mg and I'm really scared to take them incase they make me worse! Also I'm having an anxiety attack near enough every day! Can some one help how I can calm them down thank you

    Take them, it is a good drug. You mate get some early side effect but I felt better after the first tablet.

    It probably will make it worse initially. My experience with it was that I took it for anxiety/panoc and it created depression that was never there for a few weeks but then everything goes away. Try and get a prescription for a benzo like Adavan for short term anxiety relief in the short term, but be aware they are habbit forming and yoir body builds up tolerance to Benzos to don't abuse them.     Hi Katie , I'm 12  days in on 100mg of Sertraline . Suffering from anxiety and depression myself. I changed to Sertraline from mertazipine . AD affects people differently. My side effects have been quite bad for the first seven days  with upset stomach and high anxiety  but it has settled some what now. I took a beta blocker every day after day 3 and that all but stopped the pysical Symptoms on the panic attacks. Like I said it may not be the same for you so please don't be alarmed by my story ,  as everone is different. I have also done  mindfulness practice everyday to help ease the anxious thoughts.  I have also found that having a good walk helps calming me down when things get a little to much.

    Hi thanks for your comments! The last 4 days have been horrible as I've been really suffering it mostly kicks off when I stay in the house all day but I have the last couple of days as my little girls have been poorly, I shall give them a go in the morning fresh day fresh start. But I've also got the shakes like I'm cold is this normal thanks

    Hi Katie, I was the same ....

    I felt so horrible and was so scared to take as I thought it will be worse than it was :-(

    I decided to take less... therefore I haven't had terrible side effects. You can try to take 25 mg for two weeks and increase it to 50 mg after.

      Hi cindrella81 he only gave me 50mg to start with so how would I get 25mg he said they was the lowest? Well I'm trying to go to sleep and every time my I fall asleep my body jumps and wakes itself bk up any ideas what this could be thanks

      I had similar symptoms plus shaking and diarrhea... felt so week and morning got up with anxiety like I would go for exam....

      my doc said the same they 50 mg is the lowest but I cut it half :-) Simple :-)

      You don't need to do the same but that's what I did . Still I am on 25 mg. I started around 2 months ago. Feels 10 times better. Not 100 % perfect but horrible symptoms are gone. I might need to go up to 50 mg but I'll see.
