Help to heal an anal fissure

i just thought i would tell you what has really helped me. I have had an anal fissure for 12 months, I have used Diltiazem for 11 months after trying rectogesic but nothing was working. I use a stool softner and have 3 - 5 bowel movements a day and the pain didn't ever seem to get any better.

During the cold winter when out in the car i put the heated car seat on and found this helped a lot and then I thought everyone says warm baths help so I purchased a heated car seat that you plug in, I also got a plug in to mains converter and used it at home on my office chair. After a bowel movement i would turn the heated seat on instead of having a siltz bath. I also changed the way i used the cream (Diltiazem) i would only use it once a day in the morning and put a small amount on a cotton bud and insert, twisting as you remove. I removed bread from my diet as i had noticed after eating the next day would be extremely painful.

I am now 5 weeks into the new regime, i have had 2 weeks now of being pain free, i am still very tender inside when i have a BM however not in pain like i used to be and this is getting better by the day. I have also reduced the amount i eat so this has helped to only have 1 maybe 2 BM a day and i have lost weight too (bonus) and I no longer use the cream.

I hope this maybe of some help, the heat worked for me.
