Help! Vaginal vitamin C and bleeding- Side effect?

Hi there. I have been using the Vitamin C for about 2 to 3 month's now. I use it 6 days in a row after my period ends and take another 3 pills after ovulation and 1 more a couple of days before my period starts. It works great but it burns me, even a couple of days later after inserting the vitamin C, and it gives me tons of discharge.
However, this Sunday I noticed a little bit of bleeding right after intercourse (sorry for the details). The colour was light red/brown. And I was cramping a lot. It really freaked me out! The day before (Saturday) I was still feeling very sore and had that burning feeling from the vitamin C which I used on Thursday evening. I am close to my period too, but this really made me upset and scared. Has anyone experienced this before?

i have never inserted vitamin c before because many women are in the same boat as you concerning these side effects. i take probiotics orally (2 per day) that contains the good kinds of bacteria for vaginal health. yes they are pricy but worth it to me. i also take other vitamins orally.

Thank you so much for responding. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one going through this. I don't live in the UK and I couldn't find any information on the side effects of vitamin C. In fact, on the patient information sheet it only stated that burning can occur but that it is very rare. The cramping is really bad, I can still feel it today.
@Stephanie, did you have cramping that lasted a couple of days too?
I was really upset when I noticed the blood loss. I was so happy to find a cure but I don't want to make things worse either. I am going to stop inserting Vit C. I already tried probiotics but just the normal one's. Maybe it's better to use a special one for vaginal health. I will look into it.
Is there anything else that you've tried that helped cure BV instead of the vitamin C?
PS: sorry for my English grammar. I live in Holland 😉

Just a quick note to everyone reading this. I have been using biological turmeric, ginger and pepper supplements for two month's now. There are studies that prove that turmeric works for BV because it reaches the biofilm of the bacteria. But it takes a lot of patients and time. After three month's it should have some result. Just wanted to share this for anyone interested and wants to look into the research about this.

The sensation from the vitamin c results from the high amount of acid that is created within the vagina and irritating it. Very unhealthy. BV is a condition resulting from an imbalance of bacteria in the body and the effects are seen in the vagina. this mean stop paying attention to the surface and get to the root of the problem. The answer is 100% pure Oregano oil. You're welcome. What you want to do is make your own vegatarian capsules of 5 drops of pure oregano oil. Drink this with at least 500ml of water (medium sized water bottle. if you drink it with less water than this you risk tearing the tissues of your stomach, uterus, intestines (you get the drift) oregano oil is extremely strong and potent, so water is necessary. youre gonna do this 2-3(morning afternoon and night) times a day . i would start with 2x on the first day so your body gets used to it, then do it 3x per day. Remember your water. i cant stress this enough, otherwise you can poison yourself. Oregano oil from the Oregano leaf is a natural antibacterial. Those pescy bacteria that stick to the lining of the intestines will finally die and probiotics can finally have a chance to absorb well in the gut. In addition, its wise to take a a probiotic a day while you are on this but wait a while after taking the oil. Do this for 4 days and dont skip any days so the infection dies completely without growing back. this will work. but some women are more sensative than others and taking 3x per day can cause bleeding for some and others not. So start small, twice a day, 500ml of water and move it up. do thus for at least 4 days. and dont do it for too many days after that. Success!

The recommended vitamin c inserts are to be silicon covered to prevent irritation. I however wholeheartedly believe on healthy pre and probiotics. the pre includes healthy diet filled with fruits and veggies (living food) to create a good environment for probiotics to thrive.
