Hi everyone

Any input at all woukd be helpful

I am in so much pain

I have some tyoe od atypical bv. No odor or discharge... Just pain and burning around the outside of my vagina. I am 49 and ever sunce abiut 35 or so i have developed this infection every time i have unprotected sex.

For many years flagyl worked. Then it stopped a couple of years ago

I tried cleocin but it only worked temporarily

Tindanax worked for a while but now it seems to be useless too

Over the years i have tried Cures involving

Boric acid

Hydrogen pyroxide

Iodine

Probiotics

rephresh

Apple cider vinigar

Tea tree oil

Coco nut oil

The only thing that has ever worked is the antibiotics. Now none appear to be working. Where do i go from here. I am in so much pain and i feel like my relationship is in jeapordy.

Again. No odor or discharge... Just pain and burning. Not really itching. Just burning

Docs dont seem to know what to do

Thanks so much for your input

    Hi stacey

have you ruled out thrush .. And vaginal atrophy..

i am age 50 and post menopause, vaginal atrophy is dryness and can feel sore and burning to especially on outer entrance area and pain on sex.

Not only does the vaginal walls thin and dry but also the urethra

I now use ovestin estriol ovules vaginally and ovestin estriol cream on outer bits and vag entrance.

I had a well woman check lady aug and smear etc and was told at time i had dryness ( atrophy) and also CV which is Cytolytic vaginosis, no odour but a slight watery discharge ..

Have you had a smear lately

doesnt sound like BV to me, have you seen a Gyno ?

    As GP'S havent a clue

thanks so much for your responses guys.  This is very painful and I'm desperate.

Jay x - yes, everything has been ruled out, STD's, Thrush, my paps are normal etc.  Its been going on since my 30's (Im 49) and I'm pretty sure its not vaginal atrophy.  Its so weird.

    Ashley,

I used oral flagyle for about 12 years and it worked great.  It stopped working so I moved to cleacin.  This had limited success.  The vaginal preperation gave glorious relief while I used it, but it came back as soon as I stopped. Oral worked for a while, but then I became resistent to that as well.   Same for tindamax.  It worked for about 1 year.  Now I appear to have some kind of super bug in my vagina.

Yesterday my GP basically said there is nothing she can do.  She gave me metrogel, which is just a different form of flagyl so I have no expectation that it will work.  I used it last night with no improvement today.

thanks.... any input is welcome :-)
