Help with diagnoses report

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hello,

I received a diagnoses report stating "Gastroenteritis of presumed infectious origin." I run a cafe and a guest claims they got food poisoning after they had a meal at my cafe. Does the diagnoses report means they consumed something infectious that caused the Gastroenteritis?

Thanks for any help!

Well its possible but that person probably ate other things during the previous 24 hours that didnt come from your cafe. If you are in UK, that person could report the incident and you may have the Food Hygiene Inspector call to test your food , preparation surfaces, fridges, and also whoever is preparing the food.If any bacteria is found that corresponds to the report.....was there a specific bacteria mentioned in the report?..... you could find yourself in court .Do make sure that is a genuine report . Be suspicious if no bacteria is identified in the report. Unscrupulous people have been known to make this sort of claim just to get money from you

hi jatin, my goodness, you have had to hear some rubbish off someone who came in to your cafe! they are probably trying (as people do) to see if they can claim compensation from you. i would try to obtain as much information as you can from this person as to exactly what they ate. you're looking for hard facts, if there is none they may not have a leg to stand on! i wish you luck.
