Help with diagnosis of lichen planopilaris

I've had diffuse hair loss since July 2017. I've been to see 2 dermatologists.

Between July 17 and now I've developed horrendous itching and burning of my scalp. My GP and the recent dermatologist dismissed my scalp symptoms saying it's probably 'mild dermatitis'. I'm convinced it's more than this though, especially as I have lichen planus of the vulva.

I have been trying to get the recent derm to perform a biopsy but she has not been helpful to say the least and said she does not feel it's necessary.

can anyone help? Does it sound like LPP? i realise that's a difficult question when you can't see me or my scalp.

If you have LPP, can you tell me what your early symptoms were?
