Help With Getting Diagnosed

Posted , 5 users are following.

I've been experiencing chronic fatigue and many of the symptoms that come along with it, such as headaches, nausea (not that frequently, but it can come on when I'm having a really bad day), muscle pains, difficulty concentrating, and so on. No matter how much sleep I get, I never feel energized and ready for the day.

Every time I go to my doctors with this however, I never seem to get anywhere. I've been complaining of these issues for about a year now, the first couple of times I went I was told I just was tired and probably wasn't sleeping enough (despite me saying to him I always had at least 8 hours). Then, I had an appointment with a nurse who has probably been the most helpful yet, she booked me in for some blood tests and a urine test (two different occasions) which all came back fine. Following that, I booked to see a doctor again, and then another annoying trend set in.

I've found that ever since those tests came back okay, they've now started focusing on the other symptoms I discuss and not the major one, that being the chronic fatigue. The headaches were put down to migraines, the nausea as acid reflux, and I get told I just need more rest.

I'm at the point now where I'm struggling so much with it I've had to skip lectures at Uni, and I really don't know what to do, it's as if doctors have never heard of it! I've recently moved so have changed GPs, and I'm trying to book an appointment asap with them to talk about this, I really just would love some advice about how to get diagnosed with something. I'm at the point where I'm thinking of just going in and saying "I'm pretty sure I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, please can you help?" But I feel like that's too pushy. Any other advice?

Hello Emmy. know this well. a doctor's oath is practicing medicine and to do no harm. they have power over us. they know only what they have learned from school and they have too many patients such they put money over welfare of their patients needs. they chase the easy cases only to live the American dream. knowing that consider your body needs to live within some sort of health box you alone can try to control such your life be manageable. buy pure memory foam 3 inches sheets and 4 sheets stacked on floor from Amazon or internet for softer sheets. this eliminates pressure points of your body so you can sleep. next order soma from India and test the number of soma your body requires 30 minutes before bedtime until your brain says lay down now. if your joints become painful like fireworks shooting off go from pain clinic to pain clinic until they provide you sufficient pain meds to relieve your joints. that process takes months because addicts are politicians platform which people who just want releaf from pain never get what they need in us. buy a world class bidet you screw on top of toilet for wonderful colon help from Amazon. look at my web page. connect the following. Corleone Consigliere com. I hope I have helped your life find releaf you search for.

    Hi Emmy,

when you go to see your gp, ask for a referral to your nearest cfs/me specialist service. explain that you feel it could be this and just want clarity. to be eligible for referral, you have to have blood tests coming back normal. acid reflux can be part of cfs/me -not separate and migraine can be part of cfs/me-not separate.

can you remember a trigger of any type? virus or trauma etc?

blood test results need to be no more than 3months old or you'll need to have them again.

Sorry to hear you are struggling. It's often a long process getting a diagnosis. Usually you only get the diagnosis once other conditions with similar symptoms have been ruled out by blood test (like anaemia, under active thyroid, diabetes etc etc). Once I had been sent for every blood test under the sun and they said they weren't sure what was wrong, I took some literature detailing the symptoms of chronic fatigue and asked them if this was a likely diagnosis. If they are still reluctant maybe get a second opinion and be firm with them as to how much it is affecting your daily life. I had to go to them to suggest the diagnosis - they will rarely come to you unfortunately. If you have a decent well balanced diet, good sleep and good at managing your daily stress levels then there isn't really any reason they should prevent the diagnosis. The diagnosis can be useful with stuff like work if you need reasonable adjustments put in place so maybe explain your reasons behind it as well? I was lucky to have a good doctor who understands but it still took years to come to this conclusion. Good luck!

i have been to 6 different doctors and the emergency room and nobody tested for mono EBV i then had a lightbulb moment after reading something online .

so asked for that test and sure enough ... it showed EBV .

i would ask them to test for lyme too and any other auto immune disorders .

we have to be our own advocate ...

most drs arent that great and keep pressing them .. if you really believe something is wrong keep at it !
