Help with Liver pains :(

I know I posted this in another forum but I'm posting here as I believe this to be liver pain now after researching..

A bit of back story then:

I have been suffering from 'IBS' for about six months, regular episodes of pain (mostly under right rib cage, spreads around colon sometimes), irregular bowel habits, bloating, etc, etc

Had an ultrasound about 3 weeks ago which was normal, followed by a colonoscopy (normal) and an endoscopy (small hiatus hernia found) last week.

Now, I have been a bit of binge drinker for a while, will go out every Friday and drink quite a lot.

Stupidly went out a few days after the colon/endoscopy and drunk waywayway too much. Days 1/2 after the stupid binge was a horrible episode of throwing up all food constantly, feeling like absolute rubbish.

Started getting periodic mild 'stabbing' pains to the right of my belly button, like just next to where my ribs start. (similar pains to the IBS ones but seem to happen more often/hurt a lil more but still quite mild, but definitely noticable)

Went to A&E as I was sure my body was in danger, had some blood tests and a urine test which apparently came back fine (stupidly I didn't ask what they were for as I was in such a state)

Now is day 4 and I'm feeling much better than day 1/2 (still got these reoccurring pains quite regularly, weird kind of nausea in my head & reoccurring pins&needles in my right foot)

Timeline -

-3 months ago- IBS problems (right rib pain mainly)

-3 weeks ago - ultrasound (showed no issues)

-few binges in-between

-1 week ago - colon/endoscopy (shows small hiatus hernia on endo)

-4 days ago - 'mega' binge

-3 days ago - bloods/urine done at A&E (come back fine)

So I'm basically asking, could one large binge cause irreversible problems to my liver? Does this sound like liver damage? As I assume something would have shown on ultrasound/endo to show partial liver damage before this? It's very difficult to see my doctor atm.

Thanks in advance.

Jack i dont think one binge would cause irreversable problems, depends on how many other binges you have had in the past. As you say scan would have shown something i would have  thought. it does sound though as your having warning signs and id advice to avoid alchohol for a while as its a constant irritatioin to all ereas  you need to heal. my scan showed a fatty liver and i dont even drink. even a couple of chocolate biscuits is giving me grief. At the moment your probably ok so id sort yourself out if you can with avoiding things known to aggrivate and have you tried milk thistle for your liver? the liver is capable of renewing itself if allowed so i need to take on my own advice to  you and avoid my much liked chocolate  which is aggrivating me giving me pains under my right rib too.

      Thanks for the great reply!

Well I'm 20 and have been drinking every Friday night since I was about 16/17.

The scan was about three weeks ago and came up fine but I've binged every weekend since.

I just hope that i haven't done myself some damage as I still feel kind of under the weather since the weekend. I'm definitely going to stop drinking for a while, as I finally understand the problem with it. In fact, I'm actually enjoying the prospect of not messing my body up for a bit.

Never even heard of milk thistle! What does it do?

Not sure , but you don't have to be a drinker to have liver problems although drinking is a big factor.

The best advise I believe it to ask you Dr tell him or her you thoughts.
