Help with my stomach

hello. I have been dealing with heartburn and reflux for about three weeks now. So i was worried about this and went to the ER. They did a abdominal CT scan and found nothing visually wrong. No lymphodenopathy and no thickening of the lower esophagus. I was so afraid of esophageal cancer. So they said its probably an ulcer or gastritis. So I went to my PCP and he saw the scans and also thinks it may be an ulcer or gastritis. I have an endoscopy consult in May. I am petrified this is something more. My symptoms are:

  1. Heartburn
  2. horrible gnawing pain sometimes between the belly button and sternum
  3. Gas/bloating after eating
  4. flatulence
  5. tenderness when I press in on the area below my sternum
  6. Reflux

I am taking Protonix and yes I have noticed that the heartburn acidic feeling does not get as bad as it did before meds but the other symptoms remain.

What could this be?
