Oh Gosh, but apart from tinnitus is SERT helping you? I thought that maybe once my depression lifts, I won't pay attention to it. Did you have tinnitus before SERT? x

i did have slight tinnitus in one ear but now have it badly in both. But i put up with it cos the sertraline is working so well. Took 13 weeks to get to this place but so worth it.

That is good to hear! I developed tinnitus on Venlafaxine (I have never had it in my life!) but after 12 weeks, I had to come off it because it was so bad even if it wasn't quiet. I couldn't sleep either- it was very loud and constant. So my doc weaned me off slowly off Ven and introduced SERT 50. My tinnitus was still there but much more quieter. However since I have been only on SERT , this buzzing in my head spiked up again. I hope once my depression lifts I won't pay much attention to it... but I would rather have a different side effect that this one. Sert is my 3rd med and I beed to get better now. x

ive had tinnitus since 1999 that i believe was caused from celexa. since them ive found no relief except hearing aides. if you can afford even the cheapest pair you would be surprised! ive been on sertealine since june and yes some days ARE better then others and then again other days are just as bad as normal. my opinion os that it has not done anything good or bad. you may have better luck though.

Hi, my buzzing in my head started since I started Venlafaxine 11 weeks ago and I thought it will go away bit it hasn't. Doc added sert 50 one week ago to help with depression. I said to the doc that it's not a very pleasant side effect when you want to sleep. I thought Sert maybe could counteract it. I don't really have much choice as I was severly depressed and I still depressed but any changes would take me to square one?!

Thanks, do hearing aids help? Is your tinnitus all the time? Does it feel/sound like buzzing in your head? Do you sleep ok with it?
