I've just been told I have 3 prolapsed discs in my neck c5,6,7 and there pushing on the nerves. I work as a cashier but have been really struggling to carry on. The work are looking at ways to help but nothing is working. I need to know if I can carry on working or would I be able to go off work and class it as a disability.
I also have mild oa in my neck, hips, knee and hands and I'm trying hard to carry on but in do much pain. I'm on Gabapentine, naproxen and co codamol for the pain and there not working.
Thank you any advise welcome

Its no longer called dissability its called PIP.Its still run by Belafast and very hard to deal with.So if you can still manage to work ,Do so.But if you feel tghat its too much and doing more damage you wil have to make a decision. When yur on any kind of benefits you are not even allowed to leave the country,Not even for a family death.
Not wishing to be the Grom Reaper but all this we are here to help is quite simplr nonsense. Its about cutbacks and making thetre books look good. Best of luck.
Forget all the painkillers that you are taking they are all not strong enough .And if you ask for anything that repesents drug seeking behaviour.
I wish you better healh but think long and hard before you try to claim any kind of payments.
Good luck.

The cos I saw tues said if it come back worse (cause I've been working and more than likely causing more damage) he will refer me to see a surgeon to try and help release the nerves. But if it's not got any worse then he'll review my tablets. Went to work today but couldn't manage more than an hr as the pain was to much.
So I'm hoping the appointment comes through soon. But I'll only get so much sick pay then I'll need to do something about it
Thank you
