This looks like herpes... best to go get tested. keep in mind 80% of people with HSV2 DO NOT KNOW THEY HAVE IT. Also, just because you seem to be having symptoms now doesnt mean youve just recently been exposed. people can have this tricky virus unknowingly for years before they experience symptoms. A full std/Sti/yeast/bacteria panel does not typically have a HERPES test with it. CDC doesnt recommend testing anyone unless they ask or have symptoms because of the stigma that comes with herpes ... every cold sore youve ever seen is herpes. HSV1. HSV1 can be transmitted to the gentials which is becoming more common. HSV2 is typically found below the belt but in rare cases can spread to the mouth and fingers. A blood test can be up to 75-80% accurate but a swab test or (culture) will give back a 99% reading. the culture or swab test has to be taken from a active sore it cannot be healing. I would recommend seeking guidance from you health care provider or nearest health department. Most plan parenthoods offer testing along side health departments and there tests are usually cheaper than a network provider.
