Helping my eye heal more quickly

I am dealing with some kind of conjunctivitis. The doctor gave me Bactimide. I think it is working - my eye is secreting white stuff that I am assuming is because of the presence of bacteria. Is there anything I can do to speed up the healing process?

Thanks

Just use the Bactimide exactly as described and dont miss a dose even if you think the infection has gone. Make sure your hands are clean before you use the drops. Dont touch your eyes at all apart from when you use the drops. Make sure one of your doses is before you close your eyes at bedtime. If no improvement after 2 weeks, or when the drops/ointment are finished then go back to your doctor. He/she may give you more Bactimide or something different. There is no way to speed up the process. Yes the white stuff is your body's natural reaction to bacteria. You can gently blot it away with a tissue but then dispose of the tissue at once. Dont use it for anything else.
