I will definitely let you know, but I think the bus just pan people of with any type of medication, I didn't realise before because I'm living in Istanbul and I just asked her offhand what meds she was on and when she told me I checked it doesn't seem right to me , not in the slightest,,,

i was put on a similar medication - omeprazole - to protect my stomach from damage from other medication i was taking (anti-imflammatories), so it could be preventative depending on what else she is taking, like the others say obviously best that she is checking with the doctor like she is doing, but just thought it may help in the meantime to know that

    Hi,

I was on Lansoprazole for 2yrs under the misconception that it would protect my stomach lining from damage from all the other medication but unfortunately it didn't work...get Mum to just check with her Doctor. I changed to Omeprazole for the protection of my stomach.

Thanks for your reply,,, mum has been put on 15 mg but she has since found out she was taken it all wrong, she was taken her medication after breakfastsad(( but this morning she took it 1/2 hour before and she only went to the toilet 2 times and not the usual 4 /6 times,,, here's hoping it will get better biggrin))

hiya, lansopralzole often gives sudden diarrhoea, it is a common side effcet of it. it is given to protect the stomach when taking anti inflammatories. if it doesnt suit your mum get her dr to change her to omeprazole. similar thing less side effects
