When I had my stroke about 6 years ago I felt fine, in fact I didn't even go to the hospital I went to my doctor's office and my eye doctor because I had vision issues. But my vision got better and I don't remember feeling any kind of emotion one way or the other. However a year ago I had a TIA and when I did I was having trouble talking and my right arm was completely useless. I gained the use of my arm and my speech improved to normal within about 5 hours. But because it was a TIA they wanted to keep me for a couple of days. Well once I got up into my room I just started crying. I really had no idea why I was crying but I was. In fact at one point the nurse came in to take my temperature and she wanted to put the thermometer in my mouth but I couldn't breathe through my nose because I was all snotty from crying. By the next day my emotions were back in check.
Well anyway that's my experience with it. I'm sorry that you're having some residual from your stroke but I think it would be wise to talk to your doctor about it.

Hi Patrick.Since my stroke my relationship has suffered as I've lost interest in everything.I'm 46 been in a five year relationship and my memory has been affected and I'm on 3 different meds so I'm not sure what's causing what.I have had depression for over 20 years and that in itself could be the reason or a combination of things.I never go out anymore. And my libido has packed up and left.So I'm going to discuss these things with my doctor.Just hope I don't get put on anymore meds as I'm already on enough.I understand what you mean but a stroke can also bring on depression or add to it.Talk to your doc.Take care.Elaine.
