    Hi Amanda

If you have had banding or Halo then you will feel like you want to go even though you dont for a few weeks

Otherwise its the usual problem - the diet - Cut out all Sweet foods biscuits-cake-chocolate (Sorry I know thats a big ask for a lady lol) For a few weeks at least

Eat only high fibre foods - Wholefoods - Wholemeal Bread - Porridge - Wheatbran - Brown Rice etc Dates - Figs- Bananas and Yoghurt Drink lots and lots of Water (At least 5 pints a Day) No White Bread - Rice or Pasta

For Main meals have just Salads or Mixed Vegetables with little emphasis on the protein (Make the vegetables the MAIN part of the meal with a little fish or meat cheese etc NOT the other "normal" way round like a big lump of steak garnished with a bit of salad!)

Eat at least an apple and one orange a Day (AND Banana as many as desired)

LOADS OF WATER! and you will have no problems

Too start off with get some Lactulose Liquid (best) from the chemist and take once or twice a day until everything is virtually falling out of your bum the next Morning

Even without the laxative after a couple of Days (Just one BM is required a Day if you do the above and will be soft and will completely empty when you go and not have the urge to keep trying - ie The feeling like there is some left in)

Sorry about the Sweet stuff but that is essential that you dump that no matter how difficult that may be (Same goes for all processed food if possible for a couple of weeks)

      Hi Mia

Its exactly the same problem as with any bum thing I'm afraid

Constipation - Poor Diet lacking in Fibre - Not drinking enough water

Straining etc - Will only bring you future woe I'm afraid unless a complete lifestyle change regarding what you eat and plenty of excercise if that is possible - Fibre is not only found in the grains (Such as wholemeal Bread cerial and especially Wheatbran etc - That is Soluble Fibre) But also in Fresh or frozen Fruit Veg etc (Insoluble Fibre) Both needs Water to work as your Body Can not Digest Fibre believe it or not!

The water binds with the fibre and other food which turns to a mush and cleans out your tubes just like a Drain Cleaner lol

This is how you get Soft but Wholesome turds and a regular daily BM

The "Wrong" Carbs such as Sweet stuff and anything made with White Flour (Biscuits Cakes Bread) and all Processed food Just bungs you up

My damage was done in my early years due to my "Party Animal" lifestyle - If you would have told me to go on a High Fibre Diet in my 20's and 30's I would think it meant switching from Lager to Guiness lol

Hope this helps you Mia as I know you are having a rotten time

Hi Amanda , what surgery did you have 3 weeks ago ? Different types of surgery means the recoveries are all different . I have had several banding procedures , three THD , and a haemorrhoidectomy , and the after effects are all different . In truth any of the procedures will take at the very least 4 weeks before all signs are gone . After my last surgery , the haemorrhoiectomy , I felt as though I was needing to go , but in fact it was just the swelling inside that gave that impression , and every visit to the toilet was a fruitless affair . As long as you are watching what you eat , the rest of your digestive system should look after itself . Just be aware that over soft movements can just as bad as hard ones . Striking the balance is the hard part .

I had the haemorrhoiectomy done. I do feel pressure down there as if I need to go but then I try to and nothing just sometimes gas. It's miserable. I feel like I can't go anywhere unless I feel there's a bathroom near by. After my surgery they game me stool softners. I took one last night and nothing then I took one this morning and nothing but some gas. I just feel super bloated and pressure...

I know what you mean Amanda . My working life has been controlled by toilet visits , not leaving the house in the morning until I have been to the toilet , or know for sure there is a toilet where I am going . It does get better though . With regards the bloating and pressure , I know its not comfortable , and you really do think there is a huge poo straining to get out . I was so worried that I maybe had an impaction that I ended up in hospital at 3am one night . But they checked me out thoroughly and I was actually clear , it was so strange . Even the passing of a lil bit gas can give so much relief sometimes . Im sure it is just the swelling that gives such a pressure and bloated feeling . Keep your chin up Amanda , its not an easy journey , but you will get there .
