Hemorrhoid, bleeding and iron deficiency (WARNING: PIC INCLUDED)

Hi all,

I'm a 33 year old male and in the last couple of years been having on and off issues with a internal hemorrhoid,

Bleeding on and off with creams only helping for abit... I also got diagnosed with graves disease (hyperthryroidism) 3 years ago, so been on carbimazole to treat that.

Mid last year, blood test result showed that iron was low, retested a couple of months later was in the low normal range, soon after that that low and just recently very low (hemoglobin normal) with vitamin d being just below normal range aswell, doctor got me an iron infusion (2 doses of ferenject) done just after Christmas. Also ordered a colonoscopy to be done. App with specialist this Wednesday.

My hemorrhoid is very noticeable after a BM, drops of bright red blood, sometimes spraying the bowel. Eventually stopping, and moving back within, but with most BM's it bleeds. Stool colour is normal and BM hasn't changed too much, although I have been getting some random sharp stomach pain more recently, and some burbling after eating but nothing dibilitating. Not sure if this is because of the vitamins I am now taking aswell (b12, vitamin d, magensium)

Attached is a pic after BM, sorry for it being graphic but looks very angry.

After a year and abit of it being a major pain in my ass (pun intended) I'm actually looking forward to having the problem solved, bit also very anxious about the colonoscopy

The burping can be from the vitamins you are taking but dont stop taking them as they help your body to heal . Hemorrhoids are inflamed , can be a normal . Have you been constipated recently ? Or eat a lot of acid foods ? This can also be common in gay men ( not calling you gay ) but to more understand .... You may need to have them removed , meanwhile a zits bath will relieve swelling and discomfort .... Place 2 cups of ebsom salt in your hot bath ,set in the bath until the water starts to turn cool . .. Also bedodine will help in curing hemorrhoids .

Hi, no constipation and I am also straight.. just been there for so long it's becoming painful everytime they prolapse, hopefully they will sort it when I get the colonoscopy.. over the years with the blood loss and my not so good diet it has probably contributed to the iron deficiency..

the hemorrhoid looking at it just looks so inflamed

Im sure the doctor will be able to take care of it all , to relieve pain and swelling in the meantiime ,do the hot baths . Advil is also good with reducing swelling and pain . Tucks pads are for hemorrhoids ,,something else you can try . Best of luck to you hope you feel better soon

They look like a normal inflamed budging hemorrhoid , no infection could be seen , the hemorrhoids are just inside your anal section , im sure there isnt anything further to worry about . The doctor can prescribe antibiotic suppositories or an antibiotic cream just incase of infection . The main thing is keep clean and hot baths to comfort the hemorrhoid tissues

Have you tried an ice pack. Just for example the long skinny icy pole sticks that come as liquid and you freeze. Tucked between cheeks of bottom. works wonders.

never tried that but I think I will. When it goes back in I feel abit uncomfortable and abit of pain..

recently after I eat my stomach doesn't feel too good

just the iron deficiency worries me but I do bleed a fair bit from that hemorrhoid, but no blood in the actual stool.

Try stool softeners to make stools easier to pass. Have you tried applying ice to shrink the haemorrhoid? Have you tried a food diary to see if a food is causing the random abdominal pain?

I'm taking metamucil tablets at these moment. Haven't tried the ice trick yet, but it seems to go back in not long after BM, so not sure If ice would work..

in terms the pain, after a vitamin or food it's more apparent.. but intermittent and not in one particular spot, so not sure what the cause is...

To find the cause, try stopping the vitamin for few weeks and see what happens. Note down everything you eat to see if a food is causing the pain. If either or both these things are causing the pain, exclude them from your diet. The ice may work if you apply before you have a bowel movement when you are able to feel the haemorrhoid.

so had the colonoscopy and gastroscopy and both came back fine.. just the internal hemmorhoids, injected with Sclerotherapy injection.

Bit of pain but ok, but second bowel movement since and I felt the hemmorhoid pop out again, although very very small.. anyanyone else had this procedure, how long did it take for it or work completely?

Also had the pill capsule, waiting on the results for that.
