I have done extensive research to figure out if hemorrhoidectomy is a good idea. My conclusion is to avoid it if it can be avoided. I am also prescribed by NHS for Haemorrhoidectomy but I am likely to take a less painful route. Thinking of trying sclerotherapy or HALO. Check it out.
The concern that I have for the operation is that if the hemorrhoid tissue is removed it does cause physiological changes in the anal canal. A healthy hemorrhoid tissue is essential and is there for some reason. I don't think it should be removed unless there is no option left. Please do think it over, do your research and then obviously listen to your heart and make an informed decision. Good luck.

I would try laser or another approach. I had the surgery 3 years ago and it was a long recovery. Not like they say. Since then I have been plagued by hemmorroids. It has been a struggle and I am very thin and active. Currently have a thrombosed external very painful. If I can't get over it with self help will seek out laser but never ever with a scalpel again. It is frightening and I wish you the best. Please post your outcome.
