hemorrhoidectomy 19 day post op

Hi! i have never written in a forum before but i figured after all the help of so many of you i owed it to myself and everyone my age i needed to do this.

To start im a 28 year old female who birthed 3 children (the reason i had hemorrhoids in the first place) i've been struggling with them for almost 4 years now i had 4 bandings done which all made problems worse i started to bleed so much from the internal ones that i could fill 2 cups of blood! the pain of my external ones made me fall off my feet! i have children to care for daily and a cake business to jeep going and i just could not do it any longer with the stress if the hemorrhoids. i ginally got sent to a surgeon for the issues. They recomended a hemorrhoidectomy which i already knew what that was and told them no! i seen and read about the horror stories! like hell i was doing that! but after speaking to my fiance about it, it made more sense for me to go through a couple weeks of pain then to keep going for the rest if my life with it! june 16th 2021 was my date for surgery i showed up scared to death. i woke up after surgery in so much pain i cried! they gave me something in my iv that knocked me back out. i woke back up in my room to them basically shoving me out the door telling me to take norco 5's and in 72 hours ill be feeling better. i went pick up my prescriptions, recticare and more tux pads. i got home and went right back to sleep. i woke back up in little to no pain for the next 3 days but boy was i constipated (which i have never been in my life) and that was painful i was taking 2 stool softeners a day like they told me and rating anything high in fiber. on the 4th day i woke up in pain i have never felt in my entire life because i couldnt go... i then ate a kiwi and drank a bottle of water and had to finally go. When they say the first bowel movement is the worst they are not lying at all! I have never felt myself sweat in that manor nor scream in agony (i did have a stool to help myself go) i hurried and jumped in a hot bath and that helped a bit but when i got out the muscle spasms and swelling was so bad i couldnt even think of anything else! the norcos they gave me did not touch the pain, advil did no help to the swelling and after getting back into the tub i realized nothing was helping. which leg me to my first trip to the er. they looked down there said everything looked fine and gave me percaset 5's which still did not touch the pain. day 5,6,7, were a blur. i couldnt stand, couldnt think, couldnt do anything but roll around my bed in pain! i was using the restroom 6-7 times a day! probably because if the stool softeners so, i stopped taking them and stopped eating but i kept drinking water. on day 8 i woke up and went straight to the restroom then a bath i got out and the pain was still horrible i layer there for a couple hours crying and hoping this would end until i forced myself to get up and walk. i needed to get my blood flowing again. i started to feel a little better that day and when i say better i mean like 1% i was still using the bathroom alot but only 4-5 times a day my god the pain when going was horrible and after my bottom would swell and last for HOURS! day 9 i was living in the bathtub and crying all day. i could not even get up to urinate without shaking and crying thinking i may have to have bm! i felt like i was being tortured! day 10 was so bad i went back to the er my bottom was so swollen i couldnt walk the er gave me a higher doze of percasets and a shot of morphine. i wish i was lying but the morphine barely touched the pain! they also gave me something for my muscle spams as that was the most painful after a bm! day 11,12, i forced myself to get up and walk and slowly start eating again. i had lost almost 20 lbs and felt my body going into starvation mode i started to feel a little better and only using the restroom 2-3 times a day. day 13 i felt the swelling going down after a bm it wasnt so bad! day 14 was my post op visit and i was informed it does not take only 2 weeks to heal but could take MONTHS especially if you are younger and all your nerves work down there! i was in shock because no one before surgery had told me this! i was told in 2 weeks ill be back to normal! what a crock of bull! she told me to rest more and walk, lol ok and here i am 5 days later on day 19 and when i go its still horrible but a bath helps the pain a lot! the swelling is still there but not as horrible as week 1! im so upset i was told 2 weeks of heal time and now im looking at months im getting married in 3 months and im praying im not still going through this!

hi maria i am sorry you had to go through so much. exactly my point no one told me before surgery ( i had laser) this is going to last 2 weeks ( going) and more. if you are still here or you get this message please respond how you feel now, it will give me hope. i am in the same space .. thinking why did i ever get it done? this is huge compromise of lifestyle.. i wanted to make it better this is worse. i have already missed so much and i dont know how long it will still take. bms hurt so bad. i always stand up while i still have pressure in the rectum. as i cant stay longer and strain. yet never feel quite done. always scared when i might have to use the toilet. not stepping out more than 2 hours at a time. the swellinb and pain has ruined my life. everything is at a stand still. i am so anxious and depressed. please help and advsie if you can read this.when did you start to feel better. and any other tips. thank you.
